What do they put animals to sleep with?

Especially in more developed countries, where I assume whatever they use is quite humane. I'm just asking out of curiosity and not of any hope of acquiring these things to CTB.

Barbiturates, though getting them is basically a pipe dream for the average person. I kinda find it funny how we can't even get a peaceful death like animals can have.

Pentobarbital, the king of barbiturates.
There's also drugs such as "ethanol" which can provide a peaceful end but I'm not sure how much that's used any more.

Ethanol is an alcohol, the one that's in liquor. Are you by any chance thinking of Euthasol?
