i can't have a cat bc my stepdad is super allergic, so every time i'm outside and see one i momentarily forget all my suffering it's awesome

there's this sweet gray tabby named Dooby who comes by sometimes and screams for pets. he's my baby. there was a small siamese lady we called Horse Tornado last year, but unfortunately i think she either passed or moved away </3 she was old and had gotten sick last time i saw her but i'm happy to have known her

my shitty boyfriend also has a ragdoll kitten named Nefarious and he's the fluffiest most adorable menace ever. every time i visit him i spoil that cat like an old lady with her grandchild

-theatre. i love (almost) all aspects of it. tech/backstage, especially spotlight but also deck crew, prop making, really anything but directing, but being onstage is my favorite. i really really enjoy acting. it's the only time i feel true happiness and peace. there's other things i like but i dont know if there's anything else i can say i love.

-seeing animals especially dogs or any kind of ocean animal i really like going to the aquarium even though i almost never get to. that feels nice.

-my bestie and my housemate. they support me and make me smile and laugh sometimes. also the person i'm doing a short play with.

-my housemate's cat is the best cat i ever knew

-seeing trains i feel really happy seeing them even though irl i only just see the same ones

-anything to do with godzilla. i have one specific favorite. it's unnoficial and it's really short and no one has really heard of it but my bestie has, and sometimes reads my fanfictions, gives me their headcanons on the characters from it or listens to mine. sometimes i worry i'll annoy them with how much i talk about it, but it makes me feel nice when they listen. collecting godzilla themed things makes me feel nice too

-some music makes me feel calm. for singers i like noah kahan, will wood, tom rosenthal, and jonathan coulton. for bands, i like the mountain goats, twrp, ajj and ajr. noah kahan is my favorite i think out of all of them

-writing poetry

I also love trains.

I think my favorite pastime on the weekends is just to go catch a subway train. I usually make some sort of excuse and line it up with errands I have to run. I've been living in the same area for 15 years, so I've sort of memorized the train routes and mostly ride the same lines. When I wanted to CTB but the thoughts weren't as severe as they are now, I'd just daydream about leaving my dorm and commuting to my uni by train. Terrible idea, but trains have brought and still bring me so much comfort.

Going to the aquarium brings me so much peace, but I also never really get to go.

Someone I know constantly sends me videos/pictures of his cats, it really cheers me up.

Do you read a lot of poetry? What poets do you like? I'm curious as I'm just getting back into poetry. Current read is Geography III.
