If I don't leave a note, my parents will never know about my death which would probably cause a lot of pain, but would the pain be worse than knowing I killed myself?

Writing a note, even a short one, is hard because I don't want news of my death to become the latest gossip. Writing a note would also put a lot of pressure on me to fulfill my death instead of just going to the location and dying without stress.

Well its up to you really, if you'd rather not then theres no pressure to.
Though, in my own opinion i do think living not knowing what happened to your child would be more painful than knowing it was a suicide,
as the news of a death, regardless of the pain gives closure and they'll have time to process it, as opposed to not knowing and spending their whole lives wondering what happened.
I do hope you figure out what to do though.

Hard to say without ever having died.

I'm aiming to leave a digital note in my phone when my time comes. A paper note with my phone password & proper app to go to, will allow family to access it. Plus, it'll allow me to edit it, if I need to add a point later on.

They'll still never understand, but it's a step I'm willing to take, in the name of clarity.

People will gossip no matter what.

Not knowing the reason is very hard for those who care and are left to try to figure out for themselves why it happened. That definitely contributes to speculative gossip and scapegoating of others, because folks generally look for someone or something to blame.

Do your parents use email? You can send a delayed email and cancel it.

I did that also. But then I decided to print it together with some contacts to inform of my passing, and locking my phone. Better nobody sees my search history.

Locking your phone isn't enough. You have to erase all the data.
