OH GOD. ALL OF THOSE. Jesus H Roosevelt Christ I hate them with a fiery passion. Especially the "it gets better" moving from the "it gets better project" it's like...no, for some of us with time things get a whole hell of a lot WORSE. Try having a chronic health condition, for one.

Most people are just not prepared to talk about it, and as a result you can spend your life screaming for help and explain exactly what you need and only end up being judged for it. I was very gung-ho about getting treatment, clearly articulated my neuroses and disorder, and was treated with great suspicion and neglect for a long time. Then I was supposed to be surprised about my diagnoses lol
Many who stay silent are rightly concerned about this and that many people only have very temporary space and energy for the suicidal. Also, for those of us who may always be suicidal, there is no acceptance of that. So when people's reaction to suicide or secret struggles is a bland 'How awful, if only we talked more' it's very uncritical—there are things that must be done to enable talking.
(Tangentially, you see this a lot on social media, which has a component where everyone feels pressured to or obliged to give a response even if they don't have one - so non-responses like this get amplified. But being asked 'have you told somebody?' makes it hard for me to control my temper.)

I SO despise the "permanant solution to a temporary problem" one. It's just so dismissive of a person's suffering, let alone the fact that it's THEIR life, so it's THEIR choice to die, which the other person is just completely trampling on with such dismissive drivel.

"There are people out there that have it worse than you" annoys me so much. Like, just because there were people that are worse than me it doesn't mean I can't be unhappy or depressed I didn't choose to be depressed, right?

Yep hate all of those especially things get better. No things don't get better if slowly gets worse and worse.
These get my vote.
It may get better if you're still a kid. Not when you're old. Old age is going to suck bigtime. Once you're past your prime, this whole thing is even a bigger waste of time than I ever imagined. I don't know why anybody even listens to old people. They're not that smart and they can't do anything. Physically, they're toast. I'm toast.
Temporary problem, pffft. Well hell, why not get a permanent solution?
Next would be "think of the people you'll hurt." Shit, they'll throw a damn party.

I mean, I don't deny that someone who's, let's say, a quadriple amputee is probably worse off than me, but I didn't make them a quadriple amputee and I can't do anything to remedy their being an amputee, so I can't see why the fact that they have not ended their existence should oblige me to keep on living as well (and really, pointing to somebody who's worse off than me - or anyone of us - and implying that the fact that they're alive means that they WANT to be alive is a logical fallacy ; indeed, pointing to anyone and assuming that because they're alive, it means that they want to be alive is absurd, as e.g. the existence of this message board shows).

I don't know how common this is in other countries (I'm in the UK), but if you look grumpy or 'not happy' some men (usually strangers) take it upon themselves to tell you to 'cheer up love'. I hate it so much because these guys know nothing about you or the pain you're in, they just expect you to be a pretty face for them.

Like really? Everyone has the right to end their life if they choose to do so. Just because the society doesn't like the idea of suicide doesn't mean people don't have the right to decide when they want to die. And we never asked to be born in the first place, why should we live and suffer for the sake of others.
