Has anyone ever received a wellness check from a concerned family member or doctor when trying to CTB at a hotel? If so, what did you do?
Mandatory even with Do Not Disturb sign on door. What about the new wellness check policies at many hotels?
I've never heard of that. So, what are they supposed to do, wake you up in the middle of the night while you're sleeping just to check on you? You know many people work out of town and stay at hotels. Can you imagine working your ass off all day for like 12 hours and needing sleep only to be awakened in the wee hours of the morning? I would go off on them for doing that, maybe to the point of violence.Mandatory even with Do Not Disturb sign on door.
Yep, after the mass shootings in Las Vegas in 2018, hotel chains across the country are doing checks every 12 to 48 hours using housekeeping as a means to check on guests. And I guess "don't be followed to the hotel" would be a good rule to adhere to. Also, as said, good idea to disable any tracking abilities in your phone.

That's exactly what they do.And I guess "don't be followed to the hotel" would be a good rule to adhere to. Also, as said, good idea to disable any tracking abilities in your phone.

It's a better idea to leave your phone at home. If someone notices that your missing and calls for a wellness check, the police can still track the phone even if you disable the GPS. They will call your service provider and wait for you to turn on the phone. When you do, they will be able to triangulate your location. And I guess "don't be followed to the hotel" would be a good rule to adhere to. I have stayed at hotels quite a bit. They are still on COVID protocols. The maids don't clean the rooms every day anymore like before COVID. They don't come to your room at all during your entire stay unless you go to the front desk and tell them the day before and tell them you want your room cleaned. No one has ever once come to my room for a wellness check.Yep, after the mass shootings in Las Vegas in 2018, hotel chains across the country are doing checks every 12 to 48 hours using housekeeping as a means to check on guests.
You've stayed in hotels recently? Which ones? It's a better idea to leave your phone at home. I've never had this happen the only time that they come to my room is when they clean it every morning and that has changed since covid. If I don't tell my doctor or ex-gf where I'm staying, they will definitely call for a wellness check. I want to use SN.

Only if you make calls can they triangulate your location. If you make no calls on your way to the hotel, turn your phone off as you're leaving, and leave it off, there is no way they can find you via your cell phone. But, as you said, leaving it at home, turned off, works, too.If someone notices that your missing and calls for a wellness check, the police can still track the phone even if you disable the GPS.
So this is how I was found!! Damn it.It's a better idea to leave your phone at home.
