How do welfare checks actually work in the UK? What if I just don't open the door and act like nobody's home, can they do anything about it?

Having had a so-called welfare check before I can confirm that they'd just call back on another occasion. Because you're young and would be presumed as living with your parents they might even try to speak to them in attempt to seek assurance that you're ok. They'll want to know how you've been doing and if you want them to take you to a mental health unit for evaluation. I assume this is regarding you hoping to order SN? It'll be a very awkward situation if your parents are in, take it from me.

Were your parents in when it got delivered?

After tracking down MDS and seeing people having success from the UK receiving theirs recently I'm tempted to give it a go. Talking to them on WhatsApp they seemed confident it would get to the UK…but they would say that lol.

I want the SN so I have it when I choose not nesecarily to take it the moment I get it. But it means I'm more worried about getting screwed by welfare.

I live alone so a welfare check isn't the biggest of risks, but will it impact my capability of getting other stuff online? I buy HRT online and would kill me (ironically) if from now if it keeps getting intercepted. Is this as non issue or a legit concern?

Secondarily if I do get welfare checked I have no idea what I would say and fear I would fuck. I live in a small flat so meat precurment isn't feasible particularly if they intercept the second package I would order for the nausea pills.

I think I would tell then I ordered it ages ago, before I went to the G.P. and no longer want it (and threw away if I received the package). Would they buy this, they will probably have an idea when it was brought? It's a lie mixed in with a partial truth - I did go to the doctor earlier this year.

What I don't understand with UK Welfare Check is how do they know that you have ordered sn abroad? If they are aware it is because customs told them in this case why do they not intercept the sn at customs?

It's been a very long time since I had a welfare check and didn't answer the door, but they can break in if necessary. At least they did when I didn't answer the door (I was feeling down and didn't know who it was).

I was living on my own at the time and someone made a false claim that I was suicidal/made a suicide attempt. So this might not apply in your circumstances.

I can see myself really stuffing up a welfare check. I'd probably make myself sound messed up out of nerves lol

I had the police come to the house twice for welfare checks.

First instance, my GP alerted them that I was on my way to end my life and they showed up at home and spoke with my husband and 18 year old son who told them that I had gone to visit outside of London. They took away my car details etc and my brush and photo and left yhe family traumatised and flagged me down the motorway - I told them that I was returning home and they let me go after talking to the GP.

The next time, they rang the bell during the early hours of the morning (probably about 1am) and said that an online support chat line had triggered the safeguarding and had asked me by another name - I muse have chatted in a totally dissociated state and had no memory of this. I don't know who were more confused - me or the police as the name they had was not mine (but I know that I use that name when I dissociate sometimes). They left - probably none the wiser..,

Was flagged down at Beachy Head when the patrols called out the police. I told them that Inwas a busybperson, came out for a drive and think and work meetings to attend. They just escorted me out of the area, advising that they would let adult social care know (they didn't as no one contacted me) and also advised me not to visit Beachy Head in the middle the night. Been back since then - I just go there and hide and seem to be okay..,
