Good. We shouldn't be afraid to have a discussion about the right to die. I think we all should stop running away from this question and confront people that oppose the right to die and call them out for their bullshit, the same way Philip Nitschke did in several interviews when confronted about Exit International. We have the moral and legal high ground, the courts are with us that suicide is a human right and we can easily win moral debates on the right to die with rational, logical arguments. The other side doesn't have any sane arguments in favor of restricting the legal and moral right to commit suicide. They can't make coherent arguments as to why it's morally right to keep consenting and informed individuals from making the decision to end their own life, therefore violating their autonomy and most basic human rights. As I said in the past, the European Court of Human Rights agreed several times that suicide is an "expression of individual autonomy" during the last few centuries in cases that were about assisted suicide. The highest court in Germany just recently ruled very similar, implying that people have a right to decide the time and circumstances of their own death. They can't win this argument. That's why they scream and whine on Twitter instead, literally inventing ad hominems and false narratives in an attempt to gain public sympathy. It won't work.

On this website sanctionedsuicide I haven't seen anyone encourage others to commit suicide .I think most on this site are like me. I decided long ago i needed to commit suicide. This website didn't convince me of anything. It's very hard to make people change their minds and that's one of their lies that we change minds to make them want to commit suicide.

Below is screenshot of the fixthe26.com website. They are taking posts out of context and lying to make it seem that we are getting children and others to kill themselves and enjoying it. I haven't seen anyone encourage others to kill themselves.

I do feel like engaging with a community that consists of <100 followers may not be worth the potential negative exposure. They aren't a legitimate threat and likely never will be. Most "grassroots" organizations fail and this one doesn't seem to be very well-organized or led.

To be blunt, I see absolutely no benefit of having a Twitter at all. Attention is quantifiable. The more attention we get, whatever kind it may be, the more intense everyone's feelings about this site will be. Just not a good idea at all.

That matters because in today's world, the more intense peoples feelings are about a controversial site or platform, the more it is politically correct to get rid of said controversy.

This is unwise, and an ignorant attempt to try to "change peoples opinions" or make an impact with social media about such a drastically deeply ingrained moral position.

The spirit of social justice is admirable, but a dangerous one when it comes to this site.

We need to do everything we can to protect our members here, and making a fuss on Twitter about others' opinions is ridiculous. I've already looked at the tweets, and I see no productive value in feeble debates with individuals or weak and irrational organizations who will do nothing But bring us more attention from radical pro-life bigots.

Bigots who will never change their mind. This is really no different than political ploys that merely stir up emotions and reinforce viewpoints that cannot be changed. And will not ever change.

Zero benefit at all to having a twitter account in my view. It will just entrench opinion further on either side of an unbreachable divide, causing nothing but conflict and negative attention.
It will may also cause fear and division within this site, with vulnerable members retreating away from the drama and being potentially denied their reasons for being here, at least if those reasons include support or recovery.
We've seen this sort of thing before and it solves nothing. People left during that episode, never to return.
The only small benefit to be had is to allow vocal members to share consensus and solidarity against a perceived foe. However, the price may be to the detriment of less vocal members and may be counterproductive in the long run.

Do you honestly believe people will believe us if we "call out their lies" on Twitter?

Because we already take a morally debased stance on suicide in society's perspective, they will be biased against anything we say...even if we were to try and provide evidence against the lies.

Furthermore, Twitter is not the place to express vague and pathetic rebuttals.

At this point, trying to challenge the lies just makes us seem like We are covering something up to them.

It's hard not to be bitter at them, sadly. They are crusading against the only place I feel at home, and accusing horrible sh*t on all of us (murdering kids, rape, pedophillia...). I can't help but feel animosity towards them, and a drive to protect SS members. At the same time, they are so unreasonable, no matter how much respect you can try and give, they will still tunnel-vision the 'bad' they see in SS.

With that said. Having a twitter still probably isn't the best all-around idea.
Might as well use it until twitter decides to join in on the censorship, because pro-choice bad!
