Some guy on here told his story of meeting his partner at the airport and when he got there the cops were there waiting for him. The partner was fake and called the cops on him.
Another thing is serial killers target people looking for Ctb partners.
Alot of people here have said partners back out all the time too. Never showing up.

The cop thing is just eh yeah. Wouldn't doubt that there is a lot of LEO on the forums watching for partners, to be honest.
As for the backing out, If I'm set on a date, I'll still follow through even if they're not there. That's just me though. I have my date ready and am personally just getting everything in line right now. Nothings going to stop that though.

All good tips @bigj75. In regards to having a firearm, well if I had one, I could just check out anytime regardless of a partner :P Though in all seriousness, for self-protection it will serve it's purpose. For background checks, sometimes even a thorough one won't always catch everything and some people are so slick they can slip through; but that's better than nothing.
Now this makes me wonder, if there are LEO's out there browsing this site, then doesn't that put us at even more risk of being doxxed, or perhaps even locked up against our will? On the note of cops showing up, I suppose the person could ctb by police/cop, but that's very risky and not advised due to legal complications should the person survive as well as possibly ending up a vegetable (even worse than they started with).

Really, if you are intent, you'll do it alone. I only ever known one couple that succeeded, but heard many tales of one partner copping out. Seems that's if you're lucky.

true but the risk is too high.
Alot partners drain their bank account before meeting with their ctb partner and once they meet up get robbed.
The only way to verify if they are legit is to know the person you want to ctb with. Not from some random person online.
As a regular lurker in the SS partners mega-thread, I would like to take this opportunity to declare I am no cop. I'm simply a normal guy waiting to leave this land peacefully and quickly.
That's pretty disappointing to hear the partner was fake, but what's more shocking is they called the cops, because then isn't that putting both involved at potential jail time, not just the guy he's reported to the cops. In that airport scenario you gave.
Whether or not there are any actual undercover cops on here, well, I suppose that is the risk we all take for those of us seeking.
That being said, I suppose the moral of the story should also be that, in potential partners that are across borders, perhaps it's better to keep the search limited to just locals. You know? Even if that's not foolproof.
Anything involving getting on a plane or train long-distance, seems like a trap. But that's just me. Others may be genuine and comfortable.
You'd think cops would have better things to do with their limited numbers and limited funding, in any force located anywhere in the world. There's always budget cuts, thankfully.
Sometimes time constraints may prevent a prior public meet up, which is no guarantee either in ascertaining if your new friend is genuine or not the real deal.
Besides, everyone can put on a facade too. Either way, like anything, it's a risk.
Cops could be waiting at said hypothetical public place, ya know?
But points taken, they are valid. Each to their own how they proceed or don't proceed when it comes to this sort of thing or not.
Just getting out of the front door in the morning, into the world, is a risk.
Does anyone know of any success stories of 2 members on here meeting and did CTB together peacefully? All i've read are creepy and dangerous members preying on women and others just backing out the last minute (can't blame them)....

Besides being a cop or your partner meeting for nefarious intentions, there is also the situation where your partner's survival instinct kicks in the last minute and freaks out.... that would be uncomfortable situation... it's tough enough fighting your own survival instincts but now you have to worry about your partners...

drinking alcohol can go both ways... diminish inhibitions or the complete opposite.... If i were to find a partner, I would want the partner to be female, but no sex... that would cause people to change your minds
