Walking.
Forward, I think, but I can't feel my feet.
I can't feel the ground. I just feel defeat.
And the nausea.
The lump in my throat drips to the pit of my stomach.
My knees start to buckle and I start to plummet.
Safety...
Safe is the ground, the stillness, no sound.
Safety is waving your white flag around.
Waving and waving and waving
thinking that maybe it'd save me..
Walking.
Forward, I think, with chains on my feet,
dragging my ankles. Led by the clink.
Dropped into the water
she sinks and she sinks.
