Any fans? It is doing me world of goods atm.

I feel at ease with ever changing world, calm inside, and also puts me in a perspective that I always find within; that I do not belong anywhere. I have no real home, nor have any belongings. I am part of the nature. I should cease being in the nature, not in a four walled room with lots of electronics.

Only bad part is that you need a lot of money to afford quality sneakers, mine is not bad but could have been better.

Recommend it!

I used to find all my relaxation by walking through nature - used to. :(

Tips on shoes: Forget about fashion and buy only lasting quality instead. Saves money "in the long run". :D

I wish it did but it doesn't do a thing for me. Although generally when leaving the house when I can get myself to do it, it's nice to get out of these 4 walls

Whenever I am feeling very low and highly anxious I tend to walk around the city to burn up energy so I can sleep and to get out of my apartment. I like seeing city life weirdly enough, nature does little for me. Glad it's helping you in any case.

I ve been living in a metropole for almost all my life, (10 million people) left there to live in a 4K populated town (a bit bigger than a village) feels like a turning point...I can walk endlessly without seeing a mall or fancy store, no bad music etc, just nature.

I just had one of "those" experiences highlighting the trauma that living in a big city in this country means for me:

Was walking my dog - I found him as an abandoned pup on a desert reservation ~10 years ago - and saw another big canine running down the street w/o a leash.

My dog has problems with other dogs running straight towards him and so I switched to the opposite side. I try to avoid conflicts whenever I can.

While that pair of dog owners leisurely strolled by, I tried to break the line of view of my dog by shuffling his head with my knee a bit here a bit there. Its a technique I learned from a professional trainer.

Suddenly a yell from the other side - I realize those other dog owners live in the appartment under us:
"How dare you bang your dog's head like that. I've had enough of you! You are deranged!"

I can assure you anyone »banging« my dog's head with his knee would need new kneecaps after that.

My reply: "Wtf are you yelling at me for? And put your dog on a leash!"

She: "I saw you do it and I've had enough. You are mentally deranged!"

Me: "Mind your own business and PUT THAT DOG OF YOURS ON A LEASH - ITS THE LAW!"

Now her husband chips in: "Shut your trap boy!"

Me: "Come here Mr. and shut it for me!!!"

Half the neighborhood is listening by now and that was exactly not what I was after. Finally they leave and I can, too.

Just taking a walk with my dog turns into an obstacle race, trying to avoid charges of bodily assault. :(

I like walking in the nature, far less in the noise of a city.

I used to walk outside a lot. I still enjoy walking but I've trained myself to see it as procrastination because it doesn't feel like work. So I walk less now. When I do walk it's indoors back and forth because getting out and in the door is more of a hassle now.

It helps some but then I arrive home, have a wank and browse a suicide forum.

Something's not quite right.

Be careful. A guy on the Doomer subreddit got stabbed on a night walk and contracted HIV from blood on the knife.

whats the doomer subreddit about
A bunch of sad losers like us, but they emulate the "Doomer" lifestyle. Mostly young men who haven't gone full incel because they think the entire world is terrible.

It's that you're waiting till you get home to have a wank.

Maybe I could try walks again. I'm used to seeing it as forced exercise so I tend to look upon it negatively, but maybe I just need to see it in a different light.

Oh if the key to life for a socially anxious, chronically ill existentialist was so simple to just stop masturbating...

I trained myself to see anything that isn't "work" as procrastination. It has gotten to the point where I'll starve myself because "there's one more thing I have to do" but there always can be "one more thing". This is an over-correction to being a heavy procrastinator growing up and being abused for it.

"I am part of the nature" - that's it for me as well when I am out there. Though, I am a trail and mountain runner, less a walker. Being out there connects me with nature. It feels like body, nature, environment become one. It's all that matters, there and then. Movement and nature: the essence of life. Makes me feel alive.

Unfortunately not for me. I overthink and walking can trap me in overthinking. Shorter walks can be okay? I really gotta be in the right headspace and have enough energy going into it. It's awesome that's helping you though- congrats on finding it.

I wouldn't define us as "sad losers" really, we are people with different situations.

I'm getting more and more tired of going out,
i don't have any friends either so i don't feel like it,
just going out to run errands.

you shouldn't have trained yourself that way mate. being a workaholic sucks. you gotta let loose every now and then.
