This one hits home for me.

I too have bipolar and was arrested for idiotic stuff I did while highly delusional/manic/psychotic, though not quite as serious as his multiple arrests and stints in jail/prison. It saddens me to see his quote about "turning your life around" and then he ends up dying by suicide anyway. If someone with a strong reputation as a famed character and the resources that come along with that can't make it, what hope do I have? Obviously I know fame/wealth don't mean a ton when we're talking about this sort of stuff-nevertheless it saddens me greatly both as a fan of the old Charlie Brown specials as well as someone with the same mental issues to see him try to rally after so many setbacks and then throw in the towel. Needless to say, I "get it". It has been tough for me to see how many people on SS suffer from bipolar; it seems to be its own unique version of hell for each person who has it.

Robbins, who had bipolar disorder, told Fox 5 San Diego in 2019 after completing a prison sentence for making criminal threats, that "I would recommend to anybody that has bipolar disorder to take it seriously because your life can turn around in the span of a month like it did to me. I came out of prison and I'm a better person for it. I'm much more humble and grateful and thankful that I lived through the experience."
