If you haven't seen my preparations post, please view it. I haven't deviated much from my plan, so I'll update based off of that.

I lit my starter at 4:06. I used approximately 3.5 pounds. I calculated needing two pounds, but am taking the extra.

I used these coals


I let them burn in the chimney starter for 2 hours. I forgot to take a pic.




I put large gravel in the bottom of the bucket. Maybe a quarter way up. Poured the chimney starter into the bucket. I also picked up the brick it was on and poured the ashes into the bucket at well.

6:06 dumped started in bucket and put in tent.

6:13 CO meter read 450ppm
6:16 CO meter read 750ppm
6:21 CO meter maxed out at 1000

I will check the CO every 30 minutes while my final batch is burning.

My thoughts are that if my meter only goes to 1000, I need to assume that's the highest it'll be in the tent. According to the chart, I will need about 2 hours of exposure to CO levels at 1000ppm. I will check the levels throughout the next two hours. As long as my meter stays maxed, I should be successful.

oh wow. So yeah, I should definitely not have an issue with the CO levels remaining high.

I think your meter can only read 1000ppm like mine but ppm will go higher , how high ? Hard to say.

Meter than can read up to 10 000ppm which is the best are expensive 500$ but i will consider buying it when i will do it since credit card dont go after corpse lolll

I recall the PPH recommended 10,000 PPM for rapid onset of unconsciousness.

Lower levels can cause serious suffering.

I'm aware, but I couldn't get a meter that goes high enough. I ordered a 4k one, but it hasn't come in. 1000ppm meter is all I have.

Can take around an hour according to the PPH, but it depends on the space/enclosure.

I feel like absolute shit for leaving my kid. But I cant do the never ending pain anymore. 20 years is long enough. I tried as hard as I could for as long as I could.
