Can't upload, 'cause the file is too large, then you may try the August 2018 edition , page 315think maybe you could make a pdf of the page in question and post it here?
We'll much appreciate that. This thread is about traveling, so any kind of actual information about N. in your country would be very helpful for potential travelers. But should I learn anything about the present state of N availability here I will still pass that along. That doesn't seem to be a violation of the site's rules
Did anyone find out what can be done with the body in the case of ctb in Peru? I don't care about my body and don't want my family to have troubles with its transportation back to my country.
Thanks for Your answer TheLastTrip. I will go there and it would be great if you could give me all your information via PM (I cannot write PMs yet).
Will travel to Lima and would like to know, if you got any informations about availability of N there? Have to make sure it will be obtainable and would love from other community members with detailed proov/experiences here too. Will also start an own thread later that day about the topic.
OMG! Poor woman =( $5500 is too much.Unfortunately Ella then I recently found out that might be an issue. You'd think this kind of thing would be some sort of sacrosanct process that corruption can't touch, but apparently not according to the link below :( so yes there might be problems getting your body back from Peru. One of the downsides of getting N from there unfortunately.

Thank you for sharing the article.
I don't want my body to be sent back home, but what if my family will be forced to take it away?
I wonder if there is any legal opportunity to leave the body in Peru (or any other country I ctb) and let the police do what they want with it, it's just a dead meat.
I have heard of unclaimed bodies just being buried with no fuss, probably no coffin either, which is fine with me, but can't confirm Peru would do that. The best way to try and get that to happen is to cover up who you are, if they can't identify you they have no way of contacting anyone to claim the body and have to deal with it. Hotels require ID though as far as I know, so you'd be hard pushed to do that unless you discarded all your identifying documents in various public bins (cut up, bits in each) and then used N out in the country somewhere, there are loads of places to get lost if you go to smaller villages, hell it might even be classed as an accident if they found you stuck out in the jungle.
If you dispose of all your documents and erase your phone, they won't be able to ascertain your identity, and you'll most likely be buried as an indigent (or pauper, or John Doe, whatever the Peruvian legal term is). But you have to be very sure about ctb before taking this drastic step.
I think they will not check when You cross the border.@IwasElla you're welcome bud, if you have any other questions just ask, I have been planning all this for about 3 months, every moment of every day. For instance to get into Bolivia you need a yellow fever vaccination, so you can't do my Lima > Cusco > La Paz trifecta of N buying goodness without that ;)
Thank You very much for the detailled answer.Hey bud,
Well my understanding and plan was Lima as the easy entry point into the country, with the least chance of getting N. Personally this was the most nerve wracking for me, you need to get a taxi to a dodgy part of the city and stop at a bank of vet shops, and go door to door getting rejection until maybe someone says yes. I hoped I would have the confidence to do it, but I'd feel so dodgy literally going from one to the next, with the taxi driving wondering what the hell I was up to (I am generally a very anxious person, so someone else might be able to do this without a second thought, I practically lock up if a security guard in a clothes shop looks my way, even though I'd never actually do anything wrong!).
Cusco, now that was my secret weapon, the shops there are on a long street of normal shops, so I would just be a tourist happily walking along and happen to stumble into each vet shop, it's less obvious what you're up to, and there are enough shops to keep going if you get a rejection. They are also keen for the trade and so it just all round seems easier than Lima. You have to contend with the altitude though, so if you fly into Cusco from Lima then expect a day or two of rest before you're able to go out and about. If you aren't going to ctb in Cusco then I'd advise a bus back to Lima (try Peru Hop as they have English speaking guides) as personally I'd feel far more anxious trying to get the bottles back in a suitcase through an airport than I would slinging it in the hold of a bus.
Should both of those fail then Bolivia is a short bus ride from Cusco (to La Paz, use Peru Hop), according to the handbook it's easy to get it here as no prescription is needed. So that would be my path, try Lima (if I dared), Cusco as my backup and most promising place, then La Paz in Bolivia as my failsafe.
I hope that helps some people :)
I think they will not check when You cross the border.
Read some topics on the internet and it does not look like it gets checked
Do You got the concrete information that it is mandatory and gets controlled in some way?
Thank You very much for the detailled answer.
I hope to get it straight in Lima. There have been various reports, that only the small back street shop sells it without prescription...
Last "successful" purchase was by an Andrew in April 2018 in exactly this shop.
Another report states, that money talks and that a purchase with local help was successful for 200USD
How easy is it to get from Lima to Cusco, just in case?
Why not do this thing together LastTrip? I will be there in December - You would not have to care about the Veterinaria Stores at Estadio National and the Bribe kind of thing.Oh and in case anyone else is reading this thread for an update, then it is back on like megatron. After some issues finding a partner and massive financial loss, I am back on my trip to Peru.
It sounds like me and Tidus will both be there at the same time, so it will be interesting to see the differences in our stories trying to get N on location!
I'll create a new thread when the time comes, anything posted here will be buried quickly as the thread is already about to move to 2 pages.
There is always the risk of people snooping, but they'd need to hack the database to access your email address as it's internal data.
We can meet up bud, but we need like 4 - 5 bottles each, if we rock up at one of those places and ask for 8 - 10 bottles then they're either going to be super happy at making a big sale, or call the cops, lol, that looks like distribution level buying.
I am still trying to book new flights so don't know when I'll be there, but hopefully this week. Once I am settled in I am planning to go straight there and try (if I can work up the nerve, I am sure I will), or fly straight to Cusco as that's still my preference regardless of whether I could in Lima. Then I'd bus from Cusco back. I need photos of different places to fuel my 'trip to South America' excuse for leaving my home country for months ;) oh I need to visit Machu Picchu too, everyone keeps asking me about that.
But yes shoot me a PM if you want to organise something in Lima.
Thanks for Your answer Sidi - Yes I´ve read that they sell 50ml and not the 100mlIn Peru they sell 50 ml bottles, so you have to take four to ctb
There is now a low cost airline flying from Lima to Cusco called Viva Air
