I think it would be painful and 80km/h doesn't seem fast enough to be killed instantly, my stomach is doing flips just thinking about using trains as a method to CTB.

I would check the forum as other people have asked similar questions before so there will be better answers on this which consider more factors.

Hope you take care of yourself though. 🫂

i think 80kmh is in a sort of a gray area of being lethal or not but im not sure how reliable and/or ethical this method is. ofcourse its up to you if you care about that or not. you could end up with bad injuries if you dont die at impact and get thrown off to the side.

(nice pfp OP. cat good.)

i did see another post saying being under the train/laying on the tracks would be instant regardless of speed cos of the weight of the train, then i saw another post saying the speed of the train should be 100kmh+ to be painless which is why am asking

yes. being under the train will be certain death but if it will be painless or not and at what speed, i am not qualified to answer that. im sure someone else can answer that. good luck.

Train doesn't mean certain death. There are videos of people being cut in half and very much alive pulling their torso up to look at their severed lower half. And at least one person was operated on and now lives as just their upper half. Also very traumatic for the train driver, witnesses and people picking up the bits of you

Ideally. The speed and angle of impact are important. I would think 80 km/h to be "fine", but unless you catch the driver completely off guard, they will pull the brakes and it'll take probably 10-20 seconds for a modern train to come to a stop. Since the kinetic energy is related to the square of velocity, any decreases in velocity are that much more detrimental for the impact force. Obviously, trains coming into or leaving the station will not be traveling very fast, which makes it a contributing factor for train suicide failures (for jumpers specifically).

Idk! I probably would not go for a train with a top speed of 80 unless you can guarantee a favorable position (being decapitated) and/or minimal deceleration. I'd wager it'll still be fatal, but the chances of dying from injuries some time after impact (i.e. prolonged death) seem a bit too high for my liking. That said, I have no idea what kind of pain you can expect to feel in that scenario what with all the adrenaline and probable state of shock.

Not a physicist.

I wonder if having your neck on the side of the train track would end with a quick decapitation or if some reason it wouldn't.

I was thinking of trying this, on an open stretch of railway, being quick to not give the train conductor enough time to brake and then assuming a position where you lie with your neck on the tracks - I was thinking legs facing away from the tracks such that the only point of contact is the neck. Of course it's worth having a look at the sort of train that'd hit you, I've noticed some in my region have small protrusions in front of and slightly above the wheels - which i'd avoid in fear of it simply clipping the upward side of my head.

I think rail decapitation sounds appealing - I would've already CTB by it if it weren't for the cops and the trains being slowed down cause of me - oops!

At a speed of 80 km/h, the likelihood of instant death is relatively low, as the impact does not generate enough force to cause immediate destruction of vital organs or the central nervous system. Injuries may include cranial trauma with skull fractures leading to brain hemorrhage or edema, multiple fractures with limb amputations or damage to the pelvis and spine, or chest compression causing progressive respiratory or cardiac failure. Death can take variable amounts of time: a few seconds or 1-2 minutes if the impact directly involves the head or chest, or 15-30 minutes or more in the case of limb or peripheral injuries, making this method highly unpredictable and with a significant risk of prolonged agony. To ensure certain and rapid death, the train's speed should be at least 120-150 km/h or higher; at such speeds, the kinetic energy quadruples compared to 80 km/h, causing complete disarticulation of the body, massive destruction of vital organs, or fatal brain injuries, resulting in almost immediate death with agony limited to just a few seconds.

possible it wouldn't because the air suction as the train gets to you could pull you out of position

In my opinion, CTB with a train is a nasty and possible very painful death.

The biggest problem with the train method is fighting SI. When the driver sees a man on the tracks he will most likely blow the horn and that is very intimidating in addition to the noise of the train itself getting closer.

It would not be painless for those who witness it or have to clean it up!!!! Please reconsider so as to not traumatize innocent bystanders.
Believe it or not a train isn't always 100% successful. There are many cases of people who remain conscious after being hit, & with their guts wrapped around train axles etc. Once they unwrap your guts from the train you bleed out & die. That doesn't sound like a good way to go.
Please reconsider & pick a method that at least minimizes others exposure. 🤗🌹💔
