I'm going to be prescribed tradazone shortly and have never had it before.
Has anyone any experience of it?

Thanks for the response. Did you find it caused weight gain as that is something that terrifies me as I have an eating disorder.Yep, I was prescribed it to help me sleep. It worked for me for awhile and then I gave up on it because it stopped working; however, I have a friend who swears by it and has been on it for years. Everyone's physiology is different - what works for some may do nothing for others. I did not have any adverse effects from it.
Good advice! Thanks for taking the time to explain your experience.I was not on it long enough to tell if I would have gained weight and I have another condition where I lose weight no matter what I eat/take.
I was on a dose of about 50-100 mg at night if I recall correctly (for sleep), and It stopped working for me after about 2-3 nights.
I have to add that for some reason I become tolerant to most meds very quickly - probably my metabolism. So please understand that this is just my experience. It will not be the same for everyone.
One option might be to try it and watch for weight gain (not daily - as weight can vary by fluid intake, but maybe weigh yourself every 2 weeks) and then talk to the doc that prescribed it if you notice something.
I hope that's the case. Thanks xIt shouldn't cause weight gain
Fingered crossed. It's not possible to overdose on it is it?I've been taking trazadone for years for sleep. It works great and does not cause weight gain. It takes about a half hour to kick in and then zonk.

Maybe I'm the exception. I'm happy it worked for both of you.I've been on it for years. I go back and fourth between 150-300 mg a night. Works good! No side effects

No, trazadone doesn't make you hungry. Seroquel WILL thoughI took trazadone in the past and now mirtazapine, for sleep.
For those who take trazadone or mirtazapine for sleep: Do you take it on an empty stomach ? Does it make you hungry ?
'Cos on an empty stomach I'm fully awake and I'm also hungry.
But when I take them with food (preferable high carbs/fat) they make me more sleepy, sometimes it's even like I was hit by a hammer.
Anyone else experienced this ?
