It should work in theory...However, you need to make sure u're not found, it's *really* painful, and even if you aren't found, you still might survive. If you survive you will live with no tongue or whatever bit of tongue that remains, which will be a problem more or less. So, conclusion, not recommended, there's a bunch of good methods with detailed documentation here. (ex. SN and hanging)I think it's virtually impossible to swallow your tongue but there is the concern while someone is unconscious that the tongue can move back to block the airway- I think that's one reason people are moved into the recovery position- on their side. Not so sure it's something you could do consciously though. Seems along the same lines as trying to just stop breathing.Similar threads
