I am prescribed 240mg of phenobarbital daily. Does anyone know if I would need a higher dose of N? I'm also afraid it wouldn't work at all because of a high tolerance?

Maybe someone else more knowledgeable than me will see this thread but I'm assuming since they're both barbiturates and acting on the same receptors you may have some tolerance. You might want to play it safe and take more.

Is the phenobarbital a necessity for your general health? If you think if you can manage a month or two without it, I think that should help reduce your tolerance. Ideally you want to try to reduce your tolerance to barbiturates rather than take a higher volume of N to compensate, taking a higher volume will likely also increase your chances of vomiting.

I will have withdrawals and I need it to sleep, in order to have less severe migraines to not end up in the ER. I was put on it to go off benzos but I'm trying to switch back until I can ctb (currently applying to Pegasos but idk if they'll accept me). I'm hoping the Pegasos people will know how to handle it I imagine they have people they accept on pheno. But if I have to do it myself with N yeah im worried for the reasons you cited.

I'm honestly surprised doctors switched you from benzos to a barbiturate unless if benzos weren't helping with your symptoms. Usually doctors try to avoid using barbiturates whenever possible (and even benzos to some extent), because barbiturates can actually be deadly to the user unlike benzos. (I don't think it's possible to CTB on benzos alone.)

I guess all I can recommend is either try taping off of them slowly while finding something else that can help you sleep, or take a much larger dose of N to compensate. (How much I have no idea, I don't think even an expert can help on this because I don't think it's possible to accurately gauge tolerance build up.)

Yeah it's a whole philosophy in pain managment, basically, the way clonazepam unevenly leaves your system (like when taken daily as prescribed) can cause worse pain in some conditions. My doctor claimed he had helped so many people with switching them to the old and now very unpopular phenobarbital. However his plan failed and now I'm just up shit creek times 100x. I'm applying to Pegasos, where hopefully they would know how to compensate. Otherwise like you said I feel like I'm fucked with the gold standard method on my own, which is really scaring me.
