Partially because of growing up Catholic, and partially because I saw tiny things that strengthened my faith. Why do you believe in your religion? And do you ever blame God (or the equivalent for you) for whatever goes on in your life? How could an atheist start believing in something?
As much as I wish God helped me somewhat more (God seems to help when I ask which is nice.. haven't always asked), I don't blame God...
God has to do so much, has to deal with securing and maintaining an afterlife, and deal with so many worldly horrors that.... combined... are too much for most mortals. Hopefully God sends visible help to me and the people of SaSu, so the many, nightmarish existences become reasonable existences.
Example: if person X wants to be with person Y, person Y doesn't want it... and both people respect each other... does God create an illusion/distraction for person X so they don't feel disappointed, and allow Y to see the reality... or does God choose to wipe some memories to ease things up for both of them, or find another solution?
