Just throw at me what you got. Anything. I'm getting things in order to ctb on Monday and I don't want my SI screwing things up. I feel ready to die and I did some test. It will be partial. I noticed that my SI is significantly lower then before when I first attempted hanging but I am scared of failing.

Help me lads.

There's another old thread about this. I'll link to it if I can find it. I remember one suggestion was masturbation.

I know. That would be disgusting to be honest I don't want that. One of my family members will find the body and I don't want them to see me dead on a noose with one hand on my dick jerking off.

my best hope for killing SI is just overloading on fentanyl. I hope I will be able to find some, social isolation makes it hard, I don't know anybody to buy from. I don't know anybody, period.

I wonder how many replies you're going to get and how detailed or specific they'll be because in essence what you're asking is "Please explain to me how I can find the strength to kill myself". In other words, you're directly asking others here for encouragement to end your life.

At least I think that's how your post can be interpreted. Given the scrutiny the SS forum has been getting based on recent events I think everyone is going to have to be more cautious about the words he uses, especially about a topic like this.

I thought that too but everybody is still pretty casual about providing detailed instructions and stuff so?
I dunno. I guess it kind of depends on what jurisdiction their servers are based in? I honestly feel kinda clueless about it at this point.

Well put. I didn't consider that. It's a minefield here at the moment.

There's info on that in the FAQ

I think providing detailed instructions about specific methods of suicide and/or one's own direct experience with attempting one of those methods is most likely acceptable from a legal point of view.

In such caes people are simply giving each other factual information about a subject, however distasteful "the public" may find it.

However when it comes to addressing a member's request for helping him find the resolve/strength/determination to kill himself, then we're getting into a much, much grayer area morally and legally speaking.

In this case, the question becomes how do we define "encouragement" in the context of suicide?

On all of the "goodbye" threads I've read multiple people will say things like "Good luck and I hope you find peace" or " I wish you well and hope everything goes smoothly for you" and so forth. Is that encouraging suicide or merely acknowledging that once a member has decided to end his life you're expressing your wish that his end comes quickly, painlessly and peacefully. Again, could even saying that much to someone be construed as "encouragement"?

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what SI stands for. Could someone explain to me? Perhaps I can help once I know what it means?

On this particular aspect, I personally would consider this comfort rather than encouragement, but I agree it's another legal grey area. It's considered acceptable based on forum rules, but with all the recent scrutiny and public attention, maybe we need to be more careful.

SI = survival instinct.

Oh, I see. Thanks for clarifying.
"SI" means "survival instinct". Many people here have this habit of abbreviating things.
Thanks for clearing that up!
In my opinion, even your survival extinct can be extinguished if you have a strong will. You've got to make your body comply with what you want (which is to successfully CTB, in this case). Alcohol could be one way to go, as someone mentioned in another thread. Also, try to make your method fool-proof.

Tips on how to avoid survival instinct isn't encouragement. I encouraged myself enough. You just provide tips, I can decide against killing myself any minute.

Like I said it's a gray area but I think offering advice about how to overcome your survival instinct can be interpreted as encouragement to kill yourself. However much you've encouraged yourself to commit suicide has no bearing on the morality/legality of other people possibly encouraging you to commit suicide. Also you yourself may very well be mentally strong enough to decide entirely on your own whether or not to end your life. Other people who are suicidal...who knows???

It will vary with everyone as everyone's SI is different and subjective to each individual. I would say what helped me was coming to a logical conclusion and just bracing myself. Also, trying to put aside all distractions, meditating, and coming to peace with the decision helps. In addition to this is also not making a real attempt, but similar to a mock-attempt, a rehearsal essentially (for example, I put the gun in my mouth and dry fired, just to get accustomed to having a barrel in my mouth).

Just for the record: Laws vary in various states about whether someone saying/writing something can be considered liable for contributing to someone else's suicide. In some states, for example, you're liable only if you provide the person with the substances used.

The forum rules prohibit encouraging others to do anything. So let us watch our steps without going overboard.

I don't want to be that person, but maybe asking for help in overcoming SI is a sign that you aren't ready to die.

Due to the latest incident they are using the argument that there are kids here as a way to push a new law.
It seems they want to make a national law......i don't know how it works in US if they make in state or country.....
Anyways.
