For the longest time I have known about ritual suicide methods, probably the most famous being seppuku and monks who set themselves on fire. I can't imagine going out in such excruciating ways. I have been mostly numb for a long time, so I wonder what kind of... passion? it takes to do such a thing. I want to know what other people have to say about ritual suicides. They're beyond me. I suppose it's because my desire to CTB comes from a purely escapist mentality. I only want to escape pain, I don't expect anything to change as a result of my death.

I agree with the mindset of it's beyond me. I guess it has to do with having a cause "bigger than you", almost. It doesn't matter if it hurts, because the death isn't for you, it's to send a message and/or some other reason that's beyond you. I don't know what gives someone that passion, either.

I think you're absolutely correct when you point to escape vs belief. On a high level, these individuals may view life as more than just the current. Interesting thoughts, I'm with you on the escape part, quick and easy please.

Self immolation is Absolutely an option for me. I'm just scared people will think I'm crazy instead of being able to bring attention to a cause

For seppuku there was usually another person who Chopped your head off quickly after you stabbed your gut and cut your guys open so at most probably a minute or two of pain if that they were probably drunker than shit

Ritual suicide is obviously a good way to overcome the survival instinct. Unfortunately I don´t know how to get this attidude.
