no one judging one way or the other, everyone respects other views, and everyone helps and supports as much a possible. it's remarkable!

I very much appreciate the freedom to express pain without being terrified that someone will call the cops on me for wanting to die. This is now the only place I feel comfortable talking about wanting to die. Humans are not meant to be alone but unfortunately the way people are encouraged to respond in wider society tends to be isolating at best.

And that's likely why this place won't be around forever. Suddenly it's criminal to point out the nasty facts of life and to refuse to be or let others be blindly a part of the depreciative social pyramid scheme domineering this planet.

This place is one of the last bastions I've come to appreciate. It's pre Web 3 through and through and we should be grateful to the site runners for keeping things afloat.

People may be able to open up about wanting to die but that doesn't mean that this place is always free from hostility, invalidation and the cruelty of humans. It's the internet after all and wherever there are humans there is always the potential for things to be made worse. It's often an unfortunate consequence of sharing how we feel, other people can never really understand as they don't experience life the same way.

But suicide is a subject that should be able to be discussed everywhere without all of the stigma surrounding it. There is nothing wrong with someone deciding to leave behind a life that they never asked for and don't see as being worth enduring. At least for me to die would be the ideal as the inevitability of suffering in life certainly makes the thought of non existence sound incredibly appealing.

In my job you learn to develop a thick skin to criticism; all you ever get is criticized. I'm less bothered by the negative on here, and it does exist, than taken aback by the honesty and support on here. This is the only place I've ever said what is inside of me, aside from a notebook I use to keep, but destroyed when I thought about what it'd do to people around me if I did passively kill myself and they found it. Now I write stuff down, look at it, and then rip it up and throw it away. My wife find the start of one such entry once, and I had some bull-shitting to say about a piece of scrap paper on which I wrote "every day I pray to die".

Sorry, I got side-tracked. This is an honest site. That doesn't mean it's all hugs and puppy dogs, or that everyone agrees with you. But it's honest, and generally supportive. And when it's not, f*%# it. People can have negative opinions too.

I feel the same way, this forum came as a godsend but sadly at the expense of a member who is no longer with us. May he rest in peace.
