I can see moistcrit1cal or downtherabbithole making a YouTube video on this forum and seeing it blow up tbh. It has so many stories linking to it. Nyt is just the beginning.
This is one thing I despise about modern society. Privacy is dead. So many things get blown up on social media or the internet without concern for how those actually involved feel about the matter. It's not new, really. Reporters and paparazzi and such have done similar things but I have never seen so many "average" people receive such scrutiny for random and ultimately inconsequential things as now. That's a very creepy thought. So many people in here feel safe discussing things that they cannot let others know and the idea of someone most likely using those stories in a sensationalist context is utterly repulsive, vile and exploitative. To even suggest such a thing shows us how utterly revolting and callous human beings have become in their quest for fame, power and money. There is nothing sacred, private or empathic about this idea. Just a heinous invasion of people's most painful moments splashed across a screen for ratings. Disgusting....
The NYT article made me feel like Mugatu straight up taking crazy pills. As long as they don't use our stories and what we post here and then distort the truth to fit their narrative to get more views with a click baity title like NYT article.
I don't think it's "small", when it is in fact comparable to the size of a town or village. There are more people here than there are in some places. Now imagine an entire city of people who "exit." It might be a drop in the bucket on a large scale of world population, but I mean… yikes.like @stellabelle says, it's already a famous website. I mean, relatively speaking.
It's a very small community and for journalists to go as far as stalking the creators...
oh, I didn't realise there were almost 22k users. I always look at the number of guest online and it's often a low number so I felt like it was a small communityI don't think it's "small", when it is in fact comparable to the size of a town or village.
