NO. Medicare covers everything in a public hospital or outpatient.
Trust me I know the system, for treatment like that you have to go private or be put on a waiting list forever.

Tried to get help from the public system for AGES cunts wouldn't even send me on the proper tests. They would check my vitals to see if i was dying on the spot and send me home.
Hey there! I'm going to start dry fasting in a few days. I'm fighting another disease and traditional medicine has failed me (in fact it made my condition much worse), so I have no options left. If you wanna join me, let me know. it's a pretty tought method. It's gonna be kill yourself or heal yourself kinda thing.
Dry fasting can restart your digestion system
Starting medication for it tomorrow, if the doctor's plan doesn't work I'll let you know

I really feel for you. You should demand to see a specialist such as an endocrinologist as a priority. That will rule out a metabolic cause, and they can then refer you to a gastroenterologist for further evaluation. NOBODY in this country can be denied investigational treatment leading to a conclusive diagnosis and thus treatment no matter how much it may cost. However any number of specialist appointments is your absolute right to obtain a certain diagnosis and care and treatment. It must be terrible. You can complain to and seek advice from Healthcare Complaints Commission, they will assist you so have no fear of raising your concerns IN FULL.

This is like my experience with the NHS, it sounds like a great idea - government provided health care for all, until you realise the government never gives it enough money and the whole system becomes very slow and dysfunctional. 8 months to see a consultant is common, maybe that's not so bad if you aren't in chronic pain.

Sorry to hear your going through this @ClownCringe.

I've had pretty major chronic pain for 5 years now, been trying my best for this time to try and improve it. I did find some conventional treatments and alternative ones that helped along the way. There were a few drugs, one I still take, and also I found herbal medicine can actually be quite good. Unfortunately something bad happened that made it much worse along the way and I eventually ended up here, I've decided any further efforts would be pointless.

I'm not sure about your condition, but I hope you can find something that helps. Maybe there are some forums around with many people with your condition in or a support organisation website, who may have some decent ideas of what tends to help.

Lyrica seemed to help, I guess you tried that, it's basically the same as gabapentin although maybe a bit better. Amitripyline for sleep, I still use this. Physio seemed to help a bit as well.

I seemed to get some genuine benefit, lower pain, some healing; using ashwagandha, St. John's wort, and American skullcap. Which are all for nerve pain and relaxation/ sleep. Ashwagandha I just got capsules from amazon, the other two I used fresh tinctures from an herbalist store (herb pharm) because it is supposed to be better for these two. I raise the dose until I can feel some kind of clear relaxation, try for 4 weeks, change etc. Herbs can work surprisingly well, but not well enough for me, unfortunately.

I have a very long list of other things I tried, none that did what I wanted to although some were kind of interesting. Some shaman guy injected me with frog slime, did not seem to do much, apparently it strongly stimulates the immune response, maybe good for you I don't know (called kambo). The ayahuasca people are into it.

My philosophy was, basically try anything at least half reasonable sounding.

thank you Chris! I've heard about Ashwagandha but never used it. I will look into that, thank you!
I'm on lyrica now. It doesn't help with the pain much, but at least keeps me from going totally mad.

Some things that help me with the pain:
Quercetin 1g x 3 times a day
MSN 1g x 4 times a day
large doses of B-Vitamins
Vitamin C 2,5g x 3 times a day

it's still there, but it becomes at least bearable

all can be ordered from Amazon or iHerb

I'm sorry to hear your diagnosis. As a fellow digestive disorder sufferer I can sympathise. I hope you find a way to deal with it.
