Hello night members on Sanctioned Suicide! I have found a simple but reliable suicide method (from Whisper on the Internet) for people who want something fast and uncomplicated for their death - a suffocation method which does not need much preparation (plastic bag, duct tape and handcuffs).

Suffocation leads quickly to unconscious and death. The method is foolproof correctly performed and I am going to use this method myself any day soon. But some plastic bags are oxygenpermeable, which means that over a period of time, oxygen particles can seep through the bag and possibly in sufficient quantitities to maintain life. Therefore, two or three plastic bags of different materials may be needed. A small plastic bag fits for a method without drugs, and a big plastic bag is appropriate for a sleeping pill overdose.

Make a dry run without handcuffs! You will probably find out that the urge to breath becomes unbearable after one minute. It will take about two minutes to pass out!

Do not do this. Suffocation is extremely traumatic.

I tried hanging myself with a plastic bag over my head once (don't ask why I decided to put the bag over my head, it was an impulse thing) and it was a horrible experience. Wouldn't recommend

Yeah this isn't a good way to go at all. I tried using helium balloon canisters that claimed to be 100% (but weren't when you got the data sheet) and just the little amount of O2 & CO2 made it unbearable

well this is proof why simplest is not always the best. you also need someone to handcuff you thereby implicating himself in your death? this plan has some FLAWS.

How old are you - it seems that you are poorly read. Don´t you know that people have been found dead with plastic bag, duct tape and handcuffs? To die of lack of oxygen is the most sensible method because it will only take 2 minutes to faint and it will take 50 years to torment to death by age-related ailments. And what about other people who fail with other stupid methods and some people do not even know what to do - I just wanted to help. People should not have children into a world where we have to choose between suicide and to be tormented to death.

It does sound like a horrible way to go, I'm not sure I would ever be able to bring myself to do that. Maybe if I got extremely desperate though.

26, I dont know how that is relevant. Sorry I have chosen my words poorly, my bad. What I wanted to say was that its not going to be a peaceful method. Of course I heard people died like that. I didnt mean to offend you.

actually ive tried this before. after a minute or two the panic sets in, but then i slowed my breathing down and was able to calm myself down, then it wasn't that bad from there on. i kept the bag on until i felt i was ready to pass out, then i took it off. i think i could do this. but i think the state of mind going into it is important, you need to have a calm mind, if you are desperate you will panic more.

this method is very very uncomfortable, but far less painful than drowning or just holding your breath. on a pain scale of 1-10 where 10 is drowning i'd rate this method a 3 or 4

Don't know if you're still around to answer...but what makes you say it's less painful than drowning or holding your breath, out of curiousity? Have you tried drowning? I do think plastic bag with sleeping pills and benzos is better than hanging but the problem is securing yourself in a way that won't remove the bag.

This could work, I have thought of this myself, but you body is likely to thrash around as it fights to get oxygen, which could tear the bag or loosen the tape around the neck. It also seems like a terrifying way to go- in a panic you may jump up and run around trying to push the bag against anything you can to try to tear it or release the seal. A person would need really strong willpower to see this method through.

Yes, I agree. You'd have to secure yourself pretty well. Legs included so you couldn't stand up and run around as you say. I think taking benzos in combination with sleeping pills just before taping the bag on and securing your hands would probably make it more comfortable. Benzos lessen the hypercapnic alarm and if you have a few minutes worth of air in the bag they may very well kick in before you panic too much and if very lucky you'd become too drowsy or confused to do much.
Also, I've read a few reports where people were found dead with plastic bags secured around their necks without restraining themselves. Just in bed or in the car, so it's definitely possible.

Yeah that's always the thing...every single method here (excluding N and inert gas) there will be someone who says "that sounds like the most awful way to go, I wouldn't do it". Suffocation, drowning, full hanging... But I think if your life was such hell you probably wouldn't care at that point about a few minutes of high fear.
One of the reports I read was of a Korean woman found in her bathroom with a shopping bag taped around her neck and hands secured behind her back so it seems even though her legs were free she didn't try to bang her head against anything to get it off, or if she did it wasn't very powerful so who knows.

One should not combine hanging with plastic bag over the head. I am not going to hang myself! All suicides must be carefully planned, there are people who prepares themselves for several years so that they do not fail.
