• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

There is actually a whole line of f*ck suicide merchandise. I was at the mall last month. One of the department stores was selling f*ck suicide baseball caps, t- shirts, hoodies, and keychains in order to promote National Suicide Month. There was a huge sign in front of the display telling people to" Be A Hero! Be A Suicide Warrior! Save A Life Today! and encouraging them to buy this stuff.
And they think wearing those things is going to save a life? How????!!!!!

They're just stroking their own ego, believing themselves to have moral superiority and praising each other for virtue signaling. It's really no different from the people who copy-paste suicide hotline numbers online for likes and upvotes. It's an easy way to show other people you are a "good person" without actually doing anything.

Looooooooool

Everyone has a strong opinion about suicide but such a small percentage of them actually know what it's like to be really, truly suicidal.

It is easier for people to make a social media post or slap a sticker on a car than work towards some sort of meaningful social or cultural change that would benefit the wellbeing of suicidal people.

Not to say that the low effort actions aren't in good faith, I think many people do believe they are raising awareness for a charitable cause when they promote these sort of slogans and brandish the relevant merchandise. Some people may have a personal connection with suicide and so these trinkets probably have a lot more meaning and sentimentality to them than a random middle age Facebook user whose just shared a "fuck suicide!!" graphic because their friend/family member posted it.

However, many times the money raised by donations/sales of these products goes to harmful organisations which promote locking suicidal people away in psych wards, or these campaigns posture the idea that every single suicidal person has a temporary mental illness and is thinking irrationally, which is probably the biggest harm here.

What's with normies applauding themselves for doing the bare minimum? I get they want to feel good about themselves, but surely they can't think this would fundamentally change anything.

Imagine a bully or scammer buying those stickers. Such humiliation, lmao. But.. wait. Is that how indulgences work?
