The Larimer County Coroner has ruled that a Fort Collins woman reported missing in early January and found in the Pingree Park area died by suicide.
According to a release from the coroner's office, the woman died by poisoning.
The woman was reported missing by family who had not seen her since late December. Police said at the time that a utility worker reported a vehicle matching the description of that of the missing woman's parked at the Emmaline Lake trailhead in the Pingree Park area. Search teams canvassing the area located her body a few days later in early January.
On January 6, 2021, Larimer County Coroner's Office responded to a death scene in the Pingree Park area of Poudre Canyon, in Bellvue, CO.
The decedent has been identified as Christine E. Cummings, age 32, of Fort Collins, CO.
An autopsy was performed with manner of death determined to be suicide and cause of death being sodium nitrite poisoning.
