Venting The housing crisis is driving me to suicide

I cannot get away from my toxic mother. Her behavior has caused me great pain over the years, which i handled in silencd until my mind broke and I went crazy and even now I still have to do my best to tiptoe.

I cannot get a job until I move out. That stupid "you need to make 3x the rent" rule will literally be the death of me. I had money saved and could've paid a few months while getting a job.

American landlords, specifically my area, have killed me.
I started getting scary headaches which doctors have chalked up to migraines but they likely aren't:( they feel strange and wrong.

Migraines typically hurt more on one side of the forehead and when they get worse you will feel nauseous and maybe even throw up. If that describes the headaches you're getting, they're migraines

Money problems are a common reason for suicide. Larry Bird's father committed suicide from lack of money.

Capitalism and exploitation of the human spirit. Poverty and homelessness, features, not bugs, of a system whose principles are still founded on genocidal and psychopathic tendencies. The migraines could be your bodies natural response to the stressors you have been enduring, especially recently with the housing situation. Dr. Gabor Maté and other trauma therapists/doctors do make mention of this.

I can relate. I'm sick and tired of the housing crisis and the never ending price rises on everything. Jobs are scarce and they don't pay enough. Every damm day there are additional reasons to check out. As if life wasn't already hell a few years ago. It's only going to get worse.

And social security cost of living adjustment for 2024 was only 3.2 percent with today's inflation!!! Should have been 300 percent. They said on the news groceries alone are up 75 percent. Govt numbers never reflect reality and now it's worse than ever

But be glad that you have that option even though understandably it's not the best situation. Beats the hell out of being 1 of the people dying on the streets.

The best way around the housing costs in the US is to move to a region with low average prices. I live in an expensive state for housing, but know multiple people who moved to other states that live for way less.

I also cannot move out of my parents' house and this is the reason for my unhappiness, and my desire for CTB.
I won't be able to survive in this economy.

I can definitely relate to this. I hate living with my parents but the housing prices just keep going up faster than I can save money.

The housing crisis where I am (western Canada) is one of my top reasons for wanting to CTB. I am currently homeless and it's most likely going to be permanent.

I feel that too I can't survive in this economy or ever be able to buy a house :(
