Switching methods

I feel stuck. I have a setup for fsh but can't go through with it. SI, fear, a mix, who knows.
Many in the same spot as the topic comes up a lot, but I'm thinking i have to switch methods. Anyone in the same spot? Any stories from past users who maybe switched?
I'm in the US and of so gun seems logical. I've never owned one and for some reason I can't start the process, but might need to commit to it.
I'm just sick of spending every weekend rotting away thinking about it and not doing it. It's likely 30 seconds of pain for ultimate relief but can't get it done.
Maybe I'm just venting. So frustrated.

in the same situation re hanging. i dont have another option though so gonna have to go through with it. im just going to take codeine and some alcohol and get it done. I hope you find a better way

I've got moderate SI with my gun I've practiced and it doesn't really bother me but once it's loaded my si will probably be really strong depending on your state it's incredibly easy to obtain a gun as long as you don't have any criminal convictions or an involuntary psych ward stay I was originally going to jump but I switched my method to gun because there's less time for hesitation and less SI.. as soon as you pull that trigger you're dead

I have only shot one once in my life years ago. I studied the gun megathread for a month or more to make sure I had the maximum chance of death with whatever I purchased. Longer barrel= higher velocity= more deadly. My barrel is standard at 4" and I bought 125 gr 1500 fps hollow point bullets. Unless something just really went wrong, I'd be dead. Before you go into a gun store, I'd study up on the gun megathread and ask questions to people on this site so you don't buy a gun that's just not going to work. Stay away from .22 caliber guns and don't ever put it under your chin. 357 magnum is best in a handgun.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Good on you for getting it. I'm bed and couch rotting constantly so this seems about impossible to me right now. Going to have to do something though. Can't stand this anymore

I had to force myself to go to the gun store I know the feeling for me it didn't take long at all which was a relief I just checked the website of the store to make sure they had my gun in stock and then tested the trigger pull (best to have a light trigger pull) out in store and looked at the gun and then was like I want this bam five minute background check and I was out

I've switched intended methods a few times. Last time was pretty recently actually. For me, it was mostly because of financial barriers - though two in particular were SI based as well and more in the moment. A gun would be one of my dream methods, but I can't legally own one. I am repulsed by the idea of meeting up with someone I do not know, so getting one illegally would not be possible for me.

Well there's a store near me that has the one you bought in stock, only 3" barrel length though. They have a Colt Viper 357 with 4.25" stock. Feels odd even looking at them. Not really in a spot to go do this right now but might just need to get comfortable with the idea.

I keep psyching myself out reading about people surviving GSW to the head. I'm also between full suspension hanging and shooting. I actually own an MRI of my brain, so I can map out ideal pathways for the bullet, but to ensure transfer of the gasses from the muzzle into my skull, it needs to be pressed up against my head, which rules out any aiming into the mouth. Ideally, to ensure lights out for both the body and the mind immediately (no chance of living PLUS no chance of feeling the pain), I need the bullet to pass through my brainstem and pons AND midbrain.... hmm. I'm thinking maybe I do go through the mouth but essentially... deepthroat the gun by using some numbing spray, which can be bought at adult novelty stores, and shoot up through the nasopharynx (that's the area behind the soft part you feel if you move your tongue down the hard palate towards your throat). The pons is right behind that, plus you'd probably delete your amygdala and midbrain in the process, meaning no fear and no awareness, I figure. The issue then is getting the aim right. If I go behind the head, executioner style, that seems impossible.

Whenever you're ready, I would just go to the store and test out the trigger pull on the Colt. 3" might do it and be alright, it would just have less velocity.

Ive been switching for months until I gathered all I need for inert gas + EB.
Once I new I need to CTB I panicked, wanted to jump from 9th floor, didnt want to traumatize the residents.
Decided to try OD on sleeping pills + drowning, found out its likely to fail.
Wanted to get hit by train, couldn't find a spot.
Thought of hanging, CO, and eventually gathered all I need for inert gas + EB. Its been about a year since I got it and it calmed me down knowing I have my method ready. Though things are getting worse from day to day, cant find the courage to just do it. I think I may have no choice soon.
