We all do the best we can.

Gandhi said that anger is the enemy of correct understanding. Breathe, try to let it go.

My thoughts and hopes and best wishes go out to you.
Thanks for the wishes though.
Anger is the brother of frustration is the brother of the abyss that we look into when we dare to look at what all is wrong with this world. Like a Grand Canyon filled with garbage which we ship to third world nations so the kids can work on the garbage dumps sorting things that have value, getting toxins into their bodies. That is our trickle down effect. Disgusting. The abyss looks back at you and provides information to keep you going. Good wishes are horses. They seem to fall into the abyss and look back at us with sad eyes.

Yes, assisted suicide in legal in Switzerland provided that the person who wants to die possesses "decision-making" capacity, has control over his or her death (must be able to drink the Nembutal or activate the IV), and the motives of those assisting are not selfish.

There are a few minor differences between Dignitas and Pegasos (I can personally attest that a better command of English is one) but the major difference is that Dignitas requires the person seeking assistance be suffering from "an illness which will lead inevitably to death, unendurable pain or an unendurable disability". Pegasos does not have this requirement.

I am currently communicating with Pegasos.

Yes you are correct. It was Belgium that has the more liberal laws regarding mental/non-terminal illnesses for assisted suicide. But they don't accept suicide tourism so that leaves most all of us at square one.
However I was told by a Dignitas "employee" that for $5,000 they would "be able to work with me". Of course I didn't ask many follow-ups as this was not long after I had under gone what was basically my chemical lobotomy. But I'm sure she must have meant $5,000 extra on top of the $7,500. Yeah not gonna happen.

Would any of you consider applying if the quality of your medical file was sufficient (whatever that arbitrary standard means) to qualify you for assisted death?

My main reasons for the Swiss option would be: guaranteed success, won't be alone, and it lends an air of legitimacy to what I believe is a fundamental human right.

Curious if anyone here has thought of this option with any seriousness.

I myself am in this position that i am in process of euthanasia in holland. But still doing it myself is still compelling to me because i have full control.

Only reason i am in the process now is for my family and because the interviews just started with the euthanasia team.
