was hoping to go out and at least walk around to soak up the ambience, but my body has decided to render that a non-option as if the ridiculous gale-force winds weren't enough of a deterrent. woo. poor kids...

can i contribute a non-ai thing i steal from the internet? very little creative capacity rn but i like this.
Relatable on the body thing 🫂

As for the art, if you want you can tell me your idea and I'll doodle it for you? Art's cathartic for me, so no skin off my back.

oh even better.
i always wanted to go as jack skellington but could never get the stuff together for it. so that'd be neat. i'd probably be sitting against the wall with kitty, knees bent at a 90-degree angle, or something.

Awesome! So to make sure I understand (since my brain has been having trouble with words lately) like this sorta?

Also how tall are you if you don't mind? So I can get a semi-accurate size comparison to the cat

Yup, that's the pose; part of why the costume never happened was I wanted it to make me 7 feet tall, so let's go with that, haha

Last year I had a chance to celebrate Halloween something my family don't do for religious reasons but I love it. But I couldn't do it because of my family found out and stopped me but this year I won't let anything stop me wish me luck😁
I feel like I should follow up on what I did after posting this. I want to a Halloween party but it wasn't what I expected not bad just not what i expected I guess plus it was raining heavily. Truth be told I want in there looked around and left almost right away which was weird. But in a weird way I kinda enjoyed my first Halloween outing.

Happy Halloween everyone and good luck surviving another day.

Listening to Mayhem and other black/death metal. Seems fitting for the one holiday that seems to acknowledge the reality of this messed up world.

Happy Halloween. My only favorite time of the year and I spend it alone with my cats! Watching scary movies and hoping for the best in the after life. I love spooky/scary things. What's your favorite horror movie?

I used to get frightened by certain movies as a child but I don't think any movies would really scare me now. Has anyone out there been genuinely scared by a movie as an adult? Slasher movies don't really seem to be about actual fright, more just a passing thrill.

Going through this rn. I used to be and still am obsessed with anything supernatural/paranormal and did genuinely get scared. Now as an adult seeing so much real life darkness in the world where I know the real demons are the humans that walk among us, I don't really get scared any more and don't react to jump scenes. In fact, I giggle at them and sometimes root for the demon instead. I am incredibly critical of horror movies BECAUSE I love them.

Nice costume ; ) The kitty might not show it, but I'm sure he feels a bit better now that someone is there beside him.

I tried my best with the height (Jack is mostly leg anyway and I suck at foreshortening), and sorry it took so long. Arthritis in my thumbs are acting up.

If you look closely at the hands, you'll see that I made you wearing skeleton gloves so it actually looks like a costume!

My favorite movie has been Silence of The Lambs since I was a kid. It never gets old, plus Sir Anthony Hopkins is autistic like me, so I'm biased

I lost my ability to get scared by that stuff very young and actually indulged in the movies to feel safe. Trauma shit, yada yada. Nowadays the only movies that scare me are ones that speak to my trauma. I Saw The TV Glow might not be your traditional horror movie, but to a trans person who's terrified that they waited too long... genuinely terrifying

That's such a good way of putting it. How can one be afraid of fiction when we've seen that reality is actually as frightening as what is depicted in a "scary" fiction? I was never into horror when I was young like some of the people I knew were. I always thought "either it won't succeed at it's goal of scaring me and is therefore a shitty movie or I'll have nightmares. Ergo horror movies make no sense as a form of entertainment". But I noticed that a lot of hardcore horror enthusiasts had difficult, even seriously traumatic, lives. I guess the horror genre almost functions as a form of therapy by reducing what they live with 24/7 to fictional artifice. So horror movies are a pretty successful genre... Yeah...this world is just no good :).
