I think that the old woman wanted to die in a place other than her home because she did not want to shock her children or her husband and she did not have enough money

I think it's a good idea to die in public toilets.. At midnight for example. You'll unlikely be discovered too soon and rescued, but will be discovered in time before rotten... It's also easy to be cleaned up.
