Now that I know exactly where to point the muzzle, a gun is the best, most efficient option for me. When the time comes I will drink and pop just enough pills to help with the SI (having a built-up tolerance isn't always a bad thing, I've found), climb in the bathtub (don't wanna leave a huge mess) and get it over with. I am all about efficiency. I don't intend to suffer this life any more than I actually have to.
Exactly

This case has not been legally resolved, so this is all alleged: On December 7 2013 after arguing with his wife about his antidepressant use and a physician-imposed bedtime curfew, the 53-year-old former executive at a Fortune 500 company jumped into his pickup truck. According to a prosecutor, "He was driving around, depressed and loopy" when he deliberately crossed an Interstate median at high speed, flew into the air, and ripped the roof off another car, killing a woman who was eight months pregnant and her husband. He was indicted in 2014 on two counts of attempted murder. 🤔😯

One night in April 2013 after allegedly telling friends that he intended to kill himself—he reportedly "contemplated suicide to the extent of leaving funeral instructions and good-byes"—the buzz-cut 22-year-old soldier from Fort Riley, KS, got involved in a high-speed police chase that wound up with him purposely driving at 100MPH into oncoming traffic on Interstate 70. A 53-year-old man driving with two passengers in an SUV swerved out of Nelson's way but went off the road and flipped over "multiple times" down an embankment, killing one of the passengers. Nelson pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 9 years and 9 months in prison. 🥺🤭

Despondent over health issues, the retired policeman from Delhi, India, penned a suicide note before attempting to shoot himself. His daughter tried to intervene, and as they struggled, he accidentally shot her in the chest, killing her. He then shot himself but survived. He was charged with both murder and attempted suicide, the latter of which is illegal in India. 😮🥺

At 12:40 AM on Thanksgiving in 2002 after arguing with his wife the day before and allegedly calling to tell her that he "wanted her to know what dying feels like," the 35-year-old resident of Lincoln, NE, left a will and a suicide note with a friend, swallowed some Paxil and Wellbutrin, guzzled some tequila, and purposely drove his pickup truck on the wrong side of Interstate 80, creaming 19-year-old Heather Poppe. "If he wanted to kill himself, why didn't he go out and drive into a telephone pole, drink a bottle of Drano?" asked the victim's mother, who eventually won a settlement from Siefker in a wrongful death suit. "I don't feel sorry for this guy at all." 😮

One night in March 2009, the 16-year-old from Montana broke up with her boyfriend and then sent him "a series of ominous text messages" that included "If I won, I would have you. And I wouldn't crash my car" and "That's why I'm going to wreck my car. Because all I can do is fuck up." She slammed head-on into another car on a highway at 86MPH, killing a pregnant woman and her 13-year-old son. Then she sued the estate of the woman she killed for the woman's alleged "negligent driving," which is an asshole move whatever way you slice it. She eventually received a 15-year-sentence for two counts of deliberate homicide. 🫢😒😔

Katie Stubblefield was only 18 years old when her boyfriend broke up with her in 2015, leading to an event that would dramatically change her life forever. That's when Katie took a gun, put it to her face, and pulled the trigger. Every part of her face, from her mouth to her nose, her sinus cavities, and her eyes, were all damaged in the attempt.
Katie would receive a face transplant through the hard efforts of surgeons.

She had taken her brother Robert's hunting rifle in an attempt to take her own life, one that went horribly wrong. The shot didn't kill her but left her horribly disfigured, and the photos from the events following are striking. But ultimately, Katie would receive her new face and then have to deal with the adjustment period of returning to as close to a normal life as she could manage. She is, however, extremely fortunate, as only 40 procedures like Katie's had been done at the time that hers was, and of all the facial damage the surgeons had worked on prior, Katie's was the most severe. These are the miracles of modern medicine. 😮😯

Having my own value(s) taken away because of a failed suicide attempt is mainly what keeps me from attempting ngl.
If I could attempt and just shrug it off if it failed, idc. I'd keep trying. But trying and failing and then being a cripple or disfigured etc.. Yeah.. If my life wasn't already shit enough, it'd be a living hell now..
It's like my failed OD which ironically somehow cured my lifelong arrhythmia that kept coming up, especially while biking which would often make me think I'd keel over while biking because it was so severe and made me feel so awful every time.
But I attempted, failed and after 24h I cleaned up and kept on living and nobody seemed to care, whether family, friends, psychologists or doctors tbh.

Helen Galsworthy made her way to the railway tracks near her house in Hampshire, England, and lay down on the tracks. The 18-year-old had been battling depression and a cocaine addiction, which she felt she couldn't beat. She put music on, closed her eyes, and waited for the train. She described feeling a sense of peace that she had never known. But something was wrong. At the last minute, she realized that only her legs were over the tracks. But it was too late. Helen remained conscious just long enough to see her severed legs lying in front of her. A dog walker found her, and she was rushed to the hospital, where she stayed for six weeks.

Recovery was tough. Helen struggled to come to terms with the loss of her legs and having to wear prosthetic limbs. She wondered if anything good could come of her life despite having started a relationship. But then she became pregnant unexpectedly. At first, she worried that her body couldn't cope with a pregnancy, but after much soul-searching, she decided to keep the baby. Helen believes this was the right decision. She describes her son, Thomas, as the best thing to ever happen to her.

After his birth, Helen went back to university to study criminology. She has since volunteered on the psychiatric ward where she was a patient and is happier than she's ever been. 😣☹️😱

A foxy blonde fashion model, Sliwinski argued with her mother in July of 2005 before stomping out of the house and rocketing at 90MPH down a street in Skokie, IL, running three red lights in an attempt to kill herself. At an intersection, she slammed into a car containing three musicians, killing them all. She was arrested in her hospital room after the crash and was eventually convicted of reckless homicide. She spent approximately 28 months in jail awaiting trial and less than a year in prison before being released. 🙄

Man's suicide killed two adults & their children

Families-pay-tribute-to-four-who-died-in-M6-crash-1024x670.png

A man took his own life and killed four others, including two children, when he drove the wrong way along the M6 in Cumbria and deliberately head-on into another car, an inquest heard.
Richard John Woods, 40, was almost four times the legal drink-drive limit when his southbound Skoda Fabia ploughed into a Toyota Yaris, north of Tebay services, just after 4pm on October 15.

A two-thirds empty bottle of gin was found in Mr Woods' crashed Skoda, while a fireball engulfed the Glasgow-bound Toyota, with four of its five occupants pronounced dead at the scene.

Toyota driver Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, died along with two of his children, 15-year-old Filip and seven-year-old Dominic.
Mr Rossa's partner, Jade McEnroe, 33, also died although her son Arran, also seven, survived despite suffering serious injuries.
Cockermouth Coroners' Court heard today how Hexham-born Mr Woods was a flight lieutenant and squadron leader during a distinguished 14-year RAF career as a fast jet pilot before in 2019. He latterly worked for BAE Systems as a lead contractor instructor pilot.
The inquest heard he had a history of anxiety and detrimental alcohol use, for which he latterly received professional help.
A counsellor ultimately formed the view he wanted to improve his life and get back on track.

On October 14, Mr Woods, of Cambridgeshire, travelled to Lancashire for a conference, staying overnight in a hotel.

At the conference the following day, he fell asleep during morning lectures. Others felt he might be under the influence of alcohol.
Mr Woods failed to show for the afternoon session, instead heading north on the M6.
At around 3.30pm, witnesses initially saw his Skoda travelling northbound. It was drifting between all three lanes, travelling erratically, unsafely and dangerously according to one witness.
Mr Woods pulled on to the hard shoulder before making a sudden U-turn across the northbound carriageway and into lane three, heading south in a straight line for more than a mile.
Despite one very near-miss, Mr Woods travelled on, neither braking nor taking any evasive action as he collided with the Yaris head-on. One motorist recalled a loud explosion. Another reported: "The driver of the (Yaris) had no time to react."

The Skoda's speedometer was frozen on 65mph, and could have been travelling at 70 or possibly more at the point of impact, police found.

Mr Woods died from multiple injuries. Analysis of his mobile phone revealed 26 prior searches covering suicide.
Detective Sergeant Deb Story, of Cumbria police's serious collision investigation unit, concluded that Mr Woods had wanted to end his life, while intoxicated, and in doing so killed and injured others. "I would say that it was a deliberate act," she said.
Assistant Cumbria coroner Margaret Taylor, recorded a conclusion of suicide and expressed gratitude to the emergency services, saying: "The trauma of attending such an event cannot be underestimated."
In a statement read to the inquest, Mr Woods' father, Keith said: "Richard was a decent, honourable man, modest and kind towards others; just a troubled soul who lost his way."
  • An inquest into the deaths of Jaroslaw, Filip, Dominic and Jade is due to be held at Cockermouth next Thursday, April 3. 🫣🥺😞

An Oregon transient who had previously attempted killing himself, the 23-year-old Schlender purposely drove into a pizza parlor that he apparently thought was uninhabited one night in 2002, accidentally killing a janitor who was tidying up inside. At his sentencing, he told a judge, "I did all this because I've got nothing. My whole life has been nothing. I never knew a loving family. I'm never going to stop feeling this way. I am sorry he is dead. I wish I was dead." At the same hearing, his victim's son told him, "Just think before you do stuff. That's all I ask." Suicidal mother get 25 years to life...

A Sacramento County woman convicted of murdering her adult daughter in an apparent murder-suicide attempt gone wrong was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison, District Attorney Thien Ho said Tuesday. Hong Pham, 56, was sentenced Friday by Superior Court Judge James Arguelles for first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Oanh Hoang, court records show. Pham strangled Hoang with a shoestring on Sept. 26, 2016, and placed her body in the back of her car, Ho's office said in a news release Tuesday. Pham then drove the car to a parking lot near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and abandoning it before running into traffic on the roadway. A suicide note in which she confessed to the killing was later found in her home. Prosecutors did not specify the neighborhood, but The Sacramento Bee reported a few days later on Oct. 2 that a woman's body had been found in a car parked near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Fruitridge Road in the Lemon Hill section of unincorporated south Sacramento. Pham suffered a traumatic brain injury after she ran into traffic but lived, prosecutors said. She was charged with murder in December 2016, court records show. She pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity and was committed to a state mental hospital in 2017, court records show. However, she was later deemed fit to stand trial and on Nov. 21, 2024, was convicted of first-degree murder. Her request for a new trial was denied and, on Dec. 18, she was found to be mentally fit to be sentence, court records show. Pham remains in Sacramento County Main Jail custody and is due back in court for a restitution hearing March 14, court records show. 🥺😱

Man Dies by Suicide Near Train Station as Brother and Dad's Deaths Determined to be Accidents: Coroner

A father and two sons have been identified as the three family members who died near an Amtrak station in Pennsylvania and authorities say that one of the brothers died by suicide.
On Thursday, April 3, a high-speed Amtrak train traveling from Boston to Richmond, Va., struck and killed three people on the tracks, Bristol Borough Police Department Chief Joe Moors said in a previous press conference.
The three men were identified by the Bucks County Coroner's Office as dad Christopher Cramp, 56, and his sons David Cramp, 31, and Thomas Cramp, 24, according to a Bucks County Coroner's Office release obtained by PEOPLE on Friday, April 4. Christopher and David's deaths were ruled as accidents, while Thomas died by suicide.
Christopher and David were trying to stop Thomas at the time of the collision, officials reportedly said according to ABC affiliate WPVI-TV.
The Bristol Borough Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment. 😲😔😕
An Amtrak passenger train wagon at an empty station

Speaking at the press conference, Moors said that officers had already been dispatched to the station and were already "starting to head up on the railroad tracks" near Beaver and Prospect streets at the time of the incident.
"This is an absolute tragedy," Moors added.

Oleg Shegeda: Failed Murder Suicide

Oleg-Shegeda-apartment-building.jpg

In January 2018, a woman named Svetlana Shedega was found shot dead, and a man named Oleg Shegeda was found critically wounded in St. Louis, Missouri.
Police were called when neighbors heard gunshot sounds coming from the apartment. Upon their arrival, they entered the apartment to discover Svetlana lying dead on the floor with several gunshot wounds and Oleg with one single gunshot wound and a gun in his hand.

The police took Oleg to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. Svetlana was 67 years old at the time of her death, and the two had lived in the apartment for 20 years. Oleg Shedega would be officially charged a week later with the murder of Svetlana Shedega. 🙄🫢😖

The partner of a friend jumped from a tourist spot in Strathclyde, Scotland a few days ago. Falling some 250 feet onto a rocky beach foreshore.
He survived and is presently on a ventilator having broken his spine in two places, both legs and suffered rib separation and fractures both front and rear. In fact, the surgeons are unable to understand how he was able to breathe as his ribcage could not expand and contract, being detached both front and rear.
Even more tragically, he has been roused from induced coma and has suffered no brain damage, though he has not yet been informed of the extent of his injuries.
He has therefore yet to find out that he is paralysed from around the navel down and faces 10-12 months in Hospitals before returning to a life he sought to escape, now as a paraplegic.

Oh my God Sven! What a nightmare!
The thought of being stuck in a broken body is what keeps me from ctb right now.
Have you seen the movie "johnny got his gun"?

I've read about falls from 30-40 meters with very serious and often fatal injuries... surviving from 76 meters (that's 25 floors) on rocks, with those injuries and without brain damage, is almost a miracle. Is there any article or source that talks about it?

Jumping has so many variables that it can be very unreliable. I think I would regret it the second I jump. I've read many stories of people who survived jumping & every one said they regretted jumping & all said they were now happy to be alive. I'll try to find what you suggested. 🤗🌹💔

yes it is true usually when newspapers or on TV talk about it in interviews with these people you often hear stories of regrets of thanks for still being alive of approaches to the Madonna and religions. people who have converted who have undertaken a very religious path. I think it is normal it depends on the brainwashing they do once you end up in a hospital and then it is followed by social workers and psychological help who convince you of how beautiful it is to be alive. what is your method instead?

There has been nothing in the mainstream press or media regarding it. In general in the UK, unless you're a well known celebrity or your death (or attempt) is particularly attention grabbing, the MSM don't carry much about attempts. Both, I suspect, to spare the family and also to avoid "encouraging" others.
The local papers are, I believe, The Helensburgh Reporter and The Lennox Herald, which are both weekly issues. It's possible that they may have some coverage in their next online editions. Though I'd expect them to just say that he "fell" from Dumbarton Rock rather than that he jumped.

Same thing in the US.
If you're a celebrity then the news is all over it.
And even in an accident etc that kills others, the big news is the celeb & oftentimes the other people are ignored. Its very sad.🤗🌹💔
Cameron Underwood

Cameron-Underwood.jpg

Cameron Underwood would be 26 years old when he would finally receive a new face in 2018 after he shot himself in the head in 2016.[3] He was extremely fortunate in that his face was restored relatively quickly with surgery. Most patients have to wait longer to receive face transplants, leading to severe emotional trauma, such as the depression which stems from social criticism and feeling guilty.

Cameron spent months in the hospital after he attempted to end his own life with a gun, an act which removed most of his jaw, all but one of his teeth, and basically the bottom half of his face, on the night of June 26, 2016. He was fed through tubes and covered up to his eyes, which remained. Like all too many who commit or attempt suicide, Cameron had been battling severe depression and the resultant alcoholism, which hurt significantly more than it helped. But in the end, Cameron Underwood received the opportunity of a lifetime, the opportunity to smile again, when doctors completely rebuilt his entire face, giving him a new jaw, teeth, and everything else that had been damaged by the gunshot.

Today, Cameron is outspoken about his experience and tells about how he's completely different from who he once was. Sometimes, through a failed suicide attempt, people can find a new appreciation for life. 😲🫣

Erik Kramer
Erik-Kramer.jpg

Erik Kramer is a former NFL football player for the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, and San Diego Chargers in the United States and also played for the Calgary Stampeders in Canada. He, too, would go on to attempt suicide himself, proving further that fame, status, and wealth don't always exempt people from the cold, hard facts of life that can sometimes lead them to try to take their own lives.

Kramer had it all planned out to the last detail back in 2015. He had been suffering from severe depression as the result of the recent overdose death of his son, written a suicide note to those closest to him, and dropped off his children. He then proceeded to shoot himself in the head. But miraculously, Erik Kramer survived.

When police and ambulances arrived, they noted that he had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and took him to the hospital. Erik Kramer would be another person who went on to tell his story of depression and survival, giving interviews and spreading his tale of sadness, suicide attempt, and hope. 🥺🤫

Red Bluff woman kills aspiring doctor from Oregon in I-5 suicide attempt.

A 29-year-old Red Bluff woman who killed an Oregon man when she intentionally drove the wrong way on Interstate 5 south of Redding in an apparent suicide attempt was sentenced Friday to 18 years to life in prison.
During a highly emotional hearing, Grace Elizabeth Ward, who sobbed uncontrollably at times, told Ryan J. Folsom's family she was profoundly sorry for the agony and pain she has caused them.
"I cannot imagine the anguish you were going through. I wish I could take back that day, but I cannot change what happened. And I am sorry for that. I was in a dark place in my life," Ward told his family.
Folsom's wife and mother also wept as they individually described their lives without him, describing him as a devoted husband and father who loved his life and wanted to help people.
"He wanted to make a difference in the lives of others," his wife, Lauren, said.
Despite their pain, they also offered their forgiveness to Ward.
The California Highway Patrol has said Ward was in a 2009 Chevrolet Impala driving the wrong way on the freeway at a high speed on Jan. 7 when she struck head-on a southbound 2012 Honda Accord driven by the 29-year-old Folsom.
Folsom, a father and aspiring doctor from Medford, Oregon, died at Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie Bridgett has said Folsom, whose wife was pregnant with their third son at the time of the crash, was driving to a job interview in Sacramento when Ward slammed into him on I-5 just south of Knighton Road.

According to a CHP investigative report, Ward told an officer she had planned to kill herself by crashing head-on into another driver.
It has not been disclosed why Ward apparently wanted to kill herself.
The CHP report says moments before the crash, Ward had stopped her car in a freeway median strip after unsuccessfully trying to drive through cable barriers separating the freeway's northbound and southbound lanes.
Ward then drove north in the center median until finding a gap in the barrier used by emergency vehicles, the CHP report said.

Ward stopped her car and talked for about seven minutes on the phone with her mother, who called 911 to report her daughter's suicide plan, officers said.

But officers said Ward drove into the southbound lanes and nearly hit three cars before colliding head-on with Folsom's car.

Ward took a plea bargain in August, pleading guilty to second-degree murder and three felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon in exchange for the 18-years-to-life prison sentence.
Ward must serve 18 years in prison before she's eligible for parole, said Senior Deputy District Attorney Kelly Kafel, who prosecuted the case.
Ward took the plea deal about two months after her defense attorney, Shasta County Deputy Public Defender Christopher McGinnis, said he made a 25-year prison offer to settle the case after the DA's office had offered a 20-year-to-life prison deal. ☹️😲🤨

I saw another post- probably on this thread-about a CTB attempt winding up with a face transplant. The same thought ran through my mind both times ….Here in the US when someone needs a liver transplant for example , the healthier candidates go to the top of the list. So if you're an alcoholic that has admittedly done the damage to yourself, you're probably not at the top. Since face transplants are so rare I just keep wondering why they make such the effort for someone that tried to end their life. I'm not saying it's wrong. I just question it. Especially since I have no idea how someone's face is determined to be sufficient enough to transplant onto another. It is still pretty rare.

Also, do we really believe that last part? That guy went through hell with his injury and now has a new appreciation for life? What about his depression from before the accident? And the transplant will affect him for the rest of his life. I always find it hard to believe it just magically goes away.

Again, I am not arguing with this, just spewing my nonsensical thoughts. Just goes to show this is an interesting thread that can really make you stop and think.
