• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

If I failed suicide and left a suicide note which mentioned something like...

"if I have ended up a vegetable, PLEASE find a way to euthanize me.. I want to die and do not want to live life as a vegetable under anyones care. I did not want to live life as an able bodied person and I certainly don't want to live it as a vegetable and be even more of a burden to this world. "

..do you think my wish to be euthanised is likely to happen if I wrote this? Or is it completely country dependant? Or is there no chance at all, no matter what I wrote? If I knew I could fall back on this/my wishes being respected, it would take my fear of failure away.

Note I live in New Zealand and we have euthanasia here but only for the terminally ill I believe.

I think it is unlikely that your wishes will be carried out. I can't see them euthanising somebody who can't express themselves if they won't do it for those that can …

Aren't you kind of terminally ill, when you're in such a situation? I'm definitely in favour of euthanasia (might be in need in a few years), but I think it strongly depends on the law of your country, and what your family thinks, maybe too

I'd film myself passionately asking for it even...eugh. This world is so fucked and so backwards 😭😭

This is the eligibility criteria for NZ
  • aged 18 years or over
  • a citizen or permanent resident of New Zealand
  • suffering from a terminal illness that is likely to end their life within six months
  • in an advanced state of irreversible decline in physical capability
  • experiencing unbearable suffering that cannot be relieved in a manner that the person considers tolerable
  • competent to make an informed decision about assisted dying
Hard to know if they'd still try to use the last point against me or not tbh..

No, a suicide note will not suffice.
The only thing what might work is a DNR order and according to a document I found on the NIH website it seems like DNR orders can be overridden in the case of a suicide attempt.
