Is it really a privilege to be suicidal?
A product of too much "peace time" ?

There are people in the world who think that because you don't know what real struggle is that you don't realize how good you have it and that suicide is a drastic notion. It's a fair argument when you consider that at this point in time in human history we have it better than our ancestors ever did. We have so much to be grateful for in infrastructure, technology, and just quality of life in general. Other than in cases of terminal illness and disability, we should all be appreciative.

I guess I can agree but that doesn't change the fact that I want to be dead. Thoughts?

the real privilege is sitting back in an armchair and waving a pipe around pretentiously, talking about how the population with the balls of steel to take their fate into their own hands are actually naive, spoiled, etc.

how many people talking this same, tired bs just feel inferior because theyd never have the gall to splatter their own brain matter on the wall?

even for the dumbest reasons. if someone successfully hangs themself over a video game, holy shit do i have no room for anything but awe. they did on impulse what i couldnt do in years with the most torturous diagnoses known to man.

Other people having it worse, now or then, rarely cheers anyone up.

I used to think depression was a first world problem, but evidence doesn't support this. Some are more prone to suffer relative to their peers, it's just better disguised as "reasonable" in poorer people (not just poorer in terms of wealth).

This isn't to say circumstance is irrelevant. If more people had access to decent treatment, and if society was more accommodating, the level of suffering would be much less.
