• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

The prejudice against suicide and suicidal people is relentless and deeply ingrained within this society. It is very safe to assume that anyone you meet is extremely against suicide and full of hatred towards suicidal people. It's incredible to hear people talking about the torturous things suicidal people should have to go through without thinking badly about themselves. It always saddens me when I see someone recalling deeply traumatic experiences at the hands of others, and them ending their story with anti-suicide platitudes, effectively throwing other suicidal people under the bus and shaming them for remaining suicidal. It does seem like every crevice of this world is built like a prison, to avoid any chance of escape and to manipulate people into staying here. Even people just talking about suicide is censored, even though it's something I think about extensively every day, I'm not allowed to be myself for fear of persecution and hatred. Suicidal people are repeatedly encouraged to think of themselves as mentally ill and to turn themselves in to be abused by the system. Despite the system's whole purpose being to forcefully prevent suicide rather than help anyone, everyone keeps advocating for the harmful treatment and services it provides. It's strange because even people who seem to have no idea about suicide know exactly which platitudes, hotlines and dangerous services to recommend. Is this hell?

Its so terrible most humans aren't able to empathize with people that have different experiences to them. Do they even realize that if they apply the same treatment that we get to themselves just how horrible it is and how terrible we feel from it? Why do they not understand that suicide isn't the problem but mental problems and things with life itself?

Suicidal people are truly the most discriminated minority (I don't know whether to say this as a joke or not)

Tho I wish I was literally thrown under the bus so that I don't even need to put work into catching it.

I agree so much. It's why I prefer being on this site than talking to people irl because at least most people here actually get it and aren't cruel to suicidal people whereas everybody irl is cruel to suicidal people. It'd be nice if the people I see irl were like you but instead they're all mean and sadistic. I also hate at how people blame things like this site for people killing themselves when, in a lot of cases, people kill themselves because of how shitty society is. I can't comprehend as to why people can't look at society and acknowledge at how shitty this whole system is. Fuck this system. I hope there comes a day in the future where humanity looks back at their actions and acknowledge at how stupid people have been right now in the way that they treat suicidal people

You know what I find the most vile part of it all? The savior complex. The toxic positivity. The delusions that life gets better or things happen for a reason. The lies they parrot over and over about how they want to help us. All from people who can't even comprehend (nor care to try to understand) the tiniest modicum of why we feel the way we do. And if we dare to be honest with them, we're mentally ill, delusional, or psychotic.

They aren't just cruel. They're monsters in denial of what they really are. No better way to pat yourself on the back than fake gesturing support for the vulnerable. At their core, they're all pathetic.

the lack of empathy seemingly scales proportionally with conservatism, at least from what i can tell. i don't know if it's merely correlation rather than causation but the relationship is crystal clear.

i find it laughable that we as a society resort to vacuous pieces of "advice" that reek of toxic positivity in order to curb suicidality rather than addressing the root of the issue. it's akin to putting a bandage during fucking open heart surgery. it's one of the most destructive and ignorant phenomena i've seen in this world.

instead they hit you with the "other people have it worse" rhetoric and then prance around as if what they said holds any sort of meaning ; then proceeding to link a bunch of hotlines and sit on the moral high ground as if they did something useful. it's infuriating.

that's the difference with this website and real life. at least here i'm not treated like a subhuman because i don't see anyway forward.

"And they lived happily ever after" is very strongly ingrained in cultural norms around the world except for some people it's not possible and forcing them to think that way leads to more suffering.

Why do you care what people think or say? Don't Stress yourself

I don't think it's because they don't understand why someone would ctb..i remember when I was a teenager I heard a previous classmate hanged themselves I was more amazed at the fact that he could hang himself it was the method that scared me..i thought it's painful and sadistic because of media portrayal and maybe also because I was young and death was a foreign consept to me,also because it's frowned upon to suicide.. funny thing is now i don't see it as a scary method

If you confess your crimes to a priest, they would want you to turn yourself in or do it for you. If you confess being suicidal to a therapist, they would figuratively do the same.
