Does anyone know what the success rate of suicide by jumping off a cliff is? There is a national park with cliffs about an hour from my house that I'm thinking about jumping off of. Would it be an almost instant death or would I just break my back and painfully die over a period of hours or be paralyzed? It says on a website that it's about 100 ft to the ground at the highest point. I'm tired and I want to leave this world. I can't take this bullshit anymore.

Hard to say. At 100 ft it's generally optimistic that you would die, but there are always outliers with any method, including jumping, especially since it can be a bit tough to alter your trajectory and what you'll land on. Plus it depends on if the bottom is hard stone or mossy mud, water, etc. as that might change the outcome. Personally, I would combine it with another option (poisoning, GSW, cutting) for maximum effectiveness though some on SS find that goofy.

Of course, you have those like Liam Payne who died from a fall at a height that most would have deemed impossible, or at least very unlikely, to die from.

Keep in mind SI is very strong for jumping as we are generally hardwired to keep our squishy fragile bodies away from dangerous cliffs (rock-climbers and idiots at the Grand Canyon nonetheless). If you're concerned about making it look like an accident you have the option of making it look like it's a selfie accident.

Thanks for the advice. I might try to combine it with something. I don't think I could get a gun due to being involuntarily committed before, though, unfortunately. That's a good point about SI. I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I could get a benzo or drink a bunch of alcohol to override that. There's no concern of making it look like an accident.

I would love to throw myself off a cliff so that I may kill myself and find peace. I did contemplate the thought did come in my head when looking down. It was a exhilarating feeling standing near an edge

It does seem freeing. That's a beautiful picture! I bet being there was amazing experience.

Research I've found shows that a fall from 100ft is almost always fatal, except when into water

I would not recommend this at all. Cliffs are often not-at-all straight. There is a lot of chances you will hit something on the way, roll while your bones are breaking, and get completely fucked up and not dead yet. You will likely end up dying, but It could take time and a LOT if pain.
If you are doing a 1 hour drive, im pretty sure you can find a better suited place. Im just guessing, but i woudnt like my chances of dying that painfully

Do you think that if there were no edges it would be a quick death?

Assuming there are no edges to hit on the way down, and the ground is solid, then the only other variable would be the position of the body on impact. If the head makes a solid impact on the ground, at that height, the death would pretty much instant. That's a lot of force applied to a sensitive area.
