Being NASTY towards someone on here, anyone, is just so immature and at 68 years old did your parents ever teach you to respect not only your elders but senior citizens?
I never understood the whole "respect your elders" type bullshit. Being older doesn't automatically make one worthy of respect. Respect is supposed to be a mutual thing, nothing something you are automatically entitled to no matter what, just because you of your age.
It involves and revolves around this statement that I and so many others have used throughout the ages, LIFE EXPERIENCE. It ONLY comes with age and falling down and getting a person's knees skinned up and the like.
Actually, it brought no clarity. Why does experience matter when it comes to whether or not I should respect someone?

For all you know, I am older than you. There was no way I could have known your age. I don't respect anyone, regardless of how long it's been since they left their mother's womb. You're picking fights with everyone in a thread about a personality quiz. I think you might be the nasty one, Walter.
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks." You are assuming your outlook is better than those who are younger than you. If you were their age 40 years ago then most of your advice is probably irrelevant. 1984 was very different than 2024. Save your so-called guidance for those who ask for it.
You could say the same about race, gender, and many other things.
I am sure that there are plenty of people 40+ years younger than you who have had many experiences that you have never had before.
Older generations ruined the economy, and now younger generations are suffering because of it.
If anything, older people deserve less respect than younger people do. Hardly anyone has respected teachers in a long time. Most professors aren't respected either.
Move to Japan. Move to China. Be happy. Live your best life.

I honestly don't get what point he is trying to make. Experience is something that goes beyond age and having it doesn't mean anything. My bf is older than me by 30 years and has never gone through a lot of what I've gone through when I was younger because we grew up in two very different households (he's a white American and I'm a Canadian but I'm of Caribbean descent). Hell, my dad and my mom still don't have their shit figured out yet despite being in their 50s and 40s. My bf still has his own struggles to deal with too, as he never learned to properly confront his emotions when he was younger. Being older doesn't magically give you better insight and many older folks are still struggling too.
