There are a lot of privileged, ostensibly slightly left-of-centre celebs who are lining up to nail Brexit at the minute; whilst l don't disagree with these perspectives whole-heartedly and did vote to remain l do wish these same privileged people had been even fractionally as vocal about the austerity policies undertaken by successive governments of liberal centre presentation which have contributed significantly to the feeling amongst the electorate which led to Brexit. The idea that leaving an opaque trading bloc is The Sign Of Political Meltdown yet failure to build a single council house in a generation, erosion and outsourcing of essential public services and swingeing welfare cuts to the poorest are Good Actually is absolutely absurd to me.

He's right about God though.

Diversity of opinion is a good thing, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also wouldn't have minded more attention paid to the toxic rot of ideological austerity. Instead it seems to be about Theresa May's dance moves and how Corbyn was not respectful enough at the cenotaph. It is also hard to make informed decisions when lies on both sides are pushed as truth. I am still struggling on that front, so admittedly resorted to tribalistic biases. Jacob Rees Mog opened his mouth, suggested a course of action, and as such I was compelled to do the complete opposite! As some sort of deeply ingrained guttural response, as if were being chased by a malnourished polar bear. Not exactly grounded in reason I admit. However, at this stage it is my view the country would be better served by a childrens debate club presiding over parliament. Better chance of questions being answered, and a call to cite sources, and those jeering getting rightfully thrown out. They honestly couldn't do worse than the pantomime we have now.

Anyway I wouldn't want to derail the thread further, peace Chinaski.

I visited England this summer for a couple weeks and conversed with many a Londoner and countryside side folk. I saw the the exact same opinions there as I do in the US. I constantly heard a common theme of people being tired of greater London telling the other 75% of population what was best for them. We saw it here too in the US, with normally democratic areas in the Midwest flipping to Republican. Same problem, same results. The working class, middle classes, pay more and more and see no benefit to them. Some of their conclusions are misguided, but nevertheless, this is their perception. And, our government is doing an absolutely horrendous job to change this perception. In fact, all their childish antics just add fuel to the fire.

I have always believed that God was created by man. To this day, man constantly contemplates his existence, looking for answers to questions he can not answer. Why are we here? What happens to us? What does the future hold? Early religions tried to give answers to incomprehensionable events. As we advance in scientific understanding, I think the answer becomes clearer, but it will be fought.
And man created God in his own image.

If I drank … the last two years I would have been black out drunk. Probably a good thing. ;)
Honestly it doesn't matter who is the P.O.T.U.S. … I still want to die.
Trump being the President makes it a little more severe.
As I told several friends, and all their jaws hit the floor, this is what I would do if Obama and Trump were my neighbors. I did not always agree with Obama, but he was decent and polite man. I could drink a beer with him and discuss things with him in a rational and friendly manner. I'd have him over for a barbecue. If I saw Trump coming up the driveway to ask or borrow something, I would hide in the basement until he left.

If Trump were my neighbor I would board everything up and nail everything down like a hurricane was coming through.
I did support Obama but I really miss the days when things were polite or at least more polite than they are now.
No matter what political side people are on there is no excuse for that behavior.
And as far as the Border Wall … they are never going to be able to stop illegal immigration or drugs from coming into the U.S.
They can always make new tunnels under or just fly planes over, which they already do.
