Songs About Leaving is an album released in 2002 by the band Carrisa's Wierd(intentional misspelling). It deals with what the title of the album says, leaving. I really love the way they interpret the idea of "leaving", it spans from suicide, breakups, moving, mainly a general idea of departure. I think its an album that a lot of you could relate to, specifically the songs "they'll only miss you when you leave", "ignorant piece of shit", and "you should be hated here".

heres some lyrics I really like from them

"not another sunrise, another dry, stale taste in your mouth"

"telephones and postcards, with misshapen hearts besides the names, ive read this letter for the hundreth time today, I rearranged, analyzed the words, tried to find something between the lines that wasn't there"

What are some of your favorite songs/albums relating to suicide?

A song mainly about challenging times - Hell or High Water by Bailey Zimmerman

These 2 parts really resonate with me:

"Is this as bad as it gets or is it gonna get better?
Is this some kind of test, or will it be like this forever?
'Cause I ain't ever seen a cloud this dark
And I ain't ever been down this far
Is this as bad as it gets or is it gonna get better?"

"'Cause I'm fighting and I'm just
Hanging on to any thread of hope
Wondering if I should just let go
'Cause it's killing me to just keep on climbing
Looking for a silver lining"

Listening to the album right now after seeing your post, growing on me pretty quickly!

You might wanna check out Frightened Rabbit's discography, Floating in the Forth, Nitrous Gas and Die Like a Rich Boy in particular. Their singer eventually caught the bus in 2018, and their songs have a lot of themes and indirect foreshadowing about his eventual fate.

"Tired of being awake, I'll take all your klonopin
Crush them up so delicately, like the bones of my most loved enemy
And I'll stab myself in the chest
Won't be happy, won't be sad, but oh god, it's for the best"

pill friends - klonopin (demo)

i couldn't recommend them enough, all of their songs are beautiful. i've been listening to them and teen suicide since i was a preteen and as i get older i just relate to the songs more and more.

i highly recommend "suffering", it's their most popular song (for a reason) and a great starting point for anyone trying to get into them.

i listened to a fair amount of carissa's wierd over the years and i really enjoy "songs about leaving"

I'm not sure if this counts really but the album Vector by the band Haken, as well as many songs from their other albums like are very relatable. They definitely allude to suicide at least in many of their lyrics. Puzzle Box is generally the most listened to song on the album, but I personally love Veil. They're all great though. They're a prog metal/rock band.

i love Kyu-Kurarin by Iyowa, specially the AMV!! there's this part that only the character's legs are visible at the top of the screen, clearly referencing the character hanging.
here's a lyrics i like:
"say, when i fall asleep tonight and open my eyes, i can't find a single reason to gеt up. when the morning comes, what еxactly... should i do?"
