• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I've seen a few threads inquiring about partial hanging lately. I assume the people asking either haven't looked at the resources section or want additional information to what's there, so I figured I'd share my own experiences and give a little bit of insight about this method for those who want that additional info or just some quick pointers. Mods, please let me know if I should put this in the hanging megathread instead of its own post, I'm happy to put it there as well!

Disclaimer: This post is for educational purposes only, is based on my own experiences, and should NOT be taken as the ultimate guide on how to hang yourself. What works for me may not work for you. Please do your own research to see what will work best for you should you decide to use partial hanging as your chosen method.

1) The goal of partial hanging is cutting off the bloodflow to the brain, NOT suffocation or breaking your neck. If your place your rope/etc. in the wrong spot, you may injure yourself or end up with brain damage. One thing I've found for myself is that placing the belt in the wrong place results in a lot of built-up pressure in my head, and it's very painful. If done correctly, partial hanging will feel like you're going to sleep very quickly. I've found that it's actually quite pleasant to a degree.

2) Put your whole weight into your rope/etc. - In other words, don't half-ass it. As with others, this method is most effective when you commit to it. If you don't think you can do this sober, fear not! There are ways around that. I found that booze helps me commit more easily. I've read that others take benzos to help them overcome SI. Do your own research to see what will work for you.

3) SI is a bitch and will work against you. In addition to not putting your full weight into your rope/etc., there are ways in which your body may involuntarily try to survive, such as thrashing about after you've lost consiousness. There is a risk of being found if you make too much noise or break anything, so it's best to make sure that you're 100% alone while carrying this method out, and that you won't be found for a good while afterwards. Additionally, try to clear the space around you if you can, should you start involuntarily thrashing. This will reduce the chances of making noise or breaking anything.

4) You don't always have to use a rope. I've heard of others using scarves, bedsheets, neckties... hell, I'm using 2 leather belts as a "knotless noose" myself! Just make sure that whatever you decide to use can support your full weight.

Hope these little tips are helpful! Remember, this post isn't the definitive guide on how to hang yourself. There are actual resources for that (Like THIS). These are just little things that I've figured out throughout my suicide journey. I just want to help inform anyone who's willing to be informed, because I believe that trying this method (or any method, really) without proper knowledge will result in failure and further suffering. It's not my place to tell people whether they should live or die, as it's their choice and their choice alone, but I think it's important to help people go in the quickest, most painless and most humane way possible if they decide to do so.
