My heart broke when I read your post as we are twins in this aspect. Like I mentioned in another post, I went to an interview and when I got there, I was ushered into a room and the person who was going to interview me came in, no handshake, smile nothing, sat down and one of the first things said was something to the degree that I was too old for the position. I calmly smiled, got up and said thanks but no thanks and walked out of the room and building and got in my car and never looked back. The worst part of getting old (l am turning 50 in the next two months) is the knowledge that you are still seeing through the same eyes that you have all your life so far, l can still do all the thing's l could do 20 years ago yet l am overlooked because of my age and it bloody hurts, it's humiliating and makes me hate society even more! Like @whywere l have many year's of experience and knowledge but get nowhere because of my age!
One thing that I will say, just like you @LONE WOLF. having business and life experience has taught me that what goes around, comes around, and YES, I have seen it many times, so I consoled myself that someone who would be not only that unprofessional but darn right down mean will get it back.
I send you lots of caring as, you will do awesome, it might take you a little bit more elbow grease (work) to find that great position, BUT you will!
Take great care of yourself, my awesome friend.
