Me and my friend decided to take a trip to a remote area for the weekend. We dont know the area, so we were using google maps to take us to our airbnb.

Unfortunately, google maps did not consider that the 'public footpath' it suggested was for professional climbers only. In good weather conditions. In the day time. We are not professional climbers, had bags & suitcases, and it was pitch black with snow, frost and ice on the ground in sub 0 temperatures.

At first, we didnt realise. Just seemed like a woodland path. Bit steep, but nothing crazy. The more we walked, the worse it got. We realised it had become too steep to climb back up. The path got thinner and thinner, steeper and stepper, and eventually the the woodland cleared and we realised - we were scaling a fucking cliff.

Google maps sent us down the side of an 860ft cliff, following this steep, slippery footpath with only a few inches of foliage between us and the drop below. Pitch black, ice on the ground, no signal, no way of turning back, no way of knowing if we were going the right way, and no way of knowing if and when the path would end. Ive never felt fear like it. One wrong move and that would have been it, and no one would have known. For what should have been a 10 minute walk, it took us almost 2 hours to find the way out.

Jumping off a cliff is definitely not my method my dudes. Absolutely terrifying.

That really does sound terrifying but at least you didn't end up injured. Ctb by jumping scares me as a method as well, those who managed to ctb that way must had been incredibly desperate to be able to get the courage for that.

It's from a movie. There's this AI that tries to kill the space guys or something. I drank alcohol just now. Guess it doesn't work if you don't know the movie.
