i used to rely on the suicide watch subreddit, but you'd just be met with a bunch of liars telling you how much they care about you and that things would get better soon. either that or no response. it was also so difficult to find good methods on there.
i actually get to talk to people who get me on here and don't try and tell me not to ctb and it's so much better.

It is soothing to be able to interact with human beings who are sharing the same energy. So much of the rest of the world is amped up and positive at least in the United States. If you're feeling this way you can really only handle darkness. At least for me.

I'm also very glad and thankful I found this site. It's made some of my time more bearable and I've met some great people. It's great to be honest and talk openly about things I've been struggling with alone for most my life.

I agree. The talking so openly is amazing.

I'll admit that I still hold a lot back. But I'm more open here than anywhere else. It's pretty freeing, and a little weird lol.

I am very grateful that I found this site. So much information and people who are similarly situated to myself. It has been a pleasant surprise.

It's sad we can't speak more openly irl but at least this website is something and I have never had anyone tell me I need to live on here. People also have honest conversations about methods. You can't even google suicide without a bunch of prolife bs.

What kind of stuff are you holding back? Like questions or thoughts? I feel you in this though, I'm usually holding back and hoping someone will ask what I'm thinking because I don't want to put myself out there. Afraid of rejection or sounding stupid i guess is what it is for me

Good to have you aboard!

I remember back to my r/suicidewatch days... boy oh boy, the only advice you would ever get on there is that it gets better, there's so much to look forward to in the future (yeah right...) and that you should watch [insert anime here] because it's so good.

The funniest thing about that subreddit to me was how easy it was to get banned from (even by reddit's standards), doubt there would even be many actual suicidal people on there because you seem to get banned for even having suicidal thoughts.

I used to frequent r/TimeToGo. It felt a lot like this site, just a bunch of people who were genuinely struggling and wanted to leave. Then it got quarantined and died down tremendously quick. People there would sometimes elude to this site but never name it. I'm glad I eventually found it, though.

I don't know what I plan on doing, but I'm on here pretty much every day, even I don't say anything. When I'm really struggling or upset, I come here and instantly feel like I'm in my safe space; protected from everything bad.

Yes, this is the one place where people can talk openly about wanting to die. In a world with so much suffering suicide should not be so stigmatised and our right to die should always be respected. It is cruel to try and force people to live against their wishes and I think that toxic positivity and platitudes do not help anything, they are invalidating.
