Help SN VOMIT / SECOND CUP QUESTION

How can one estimate – approximately, of course – how much sodium nitrite (SN) was lost during vomiting?

Stan's Guide clearly states:

"When vomiting, two things will happen. Retching will either bring up stomach mucus – a clear sticky substance – or bring up the SN liquid. The reason why it is advised to use as little water as possible is that you can make a personal assessment whether you brought it all up."​

By "personal assessment," does this mean we might be able to visually distinguish between SN solution and gastric mucus? Or is taste involved during vomiting? Any signs from consistency or color?

Perhaps someone who failed due to vomiting can share more insight.

There was a user that posted a picture of it and honestly I doubt one can tell the difference or how much is lost. Best bet is to just drink second cup if possible as most lose consciousness before that.

yea, it sounds very hard.
ok but how much of the second cup? should it be tied to how much you vomited and/or the dosage of the SN solution, i guess?
let's say my first cup was 25g and i vomited a lot, maybe it's still enough to just drink half or even 1/3 of the second? (also based on what the "Useful Info About SN" thread says

Not speaking from a SN failure, but just common sense, but I would just drink the entire 2nd cup, if able, and be done with it instead of complicating things even more with "assessing" how much *may* have been lost vomiting vs how much of the 2nd cup should replace it. I doubt everyone vomits the same amount up, anyway. 1/3 of the 2nd cup, 1/2 the 2nd cup????? It's going to be just as nasty tasting as the first cup no matter how much you drink. Just my opinion.

indeed i think it's very hard to establish that, but who knows, I asked. The more control I have over the whole process, the better it is.

i agree, of course it's unlikely everyone vomits the same amount.

the problem is not the taste / how nasty it is. i just want to minimise the chance of failure by refining the balance dosage-vomit but yes i think it's close to insanity, but again who knows that's why i ask.

I think here is easy to say "im gonna drink the second cup as fast as i can when i vomit", but you have to see yourself in that situation once you drink the first cup and start to feeling wreck

but yes, if you vomit but you still feel yourself capable of drinking a second cup, go for it no matter what

i haven't vomited since 2013 (i was still a child - maybe i'm particular resistent to vomiting) so honestly i have literally no idea how it feels to vomit, let alone when taking SN.
i think i'll go for half/the entire second cup in case of vomit and only if i feel like i can do it, but of course let's see if someone else shares their view

It was an old goodbye thread, don't really remember the username. Maybe if others remember they can post the link. There is absolutely no way of knowing exactly how much is vomited and how much is absorbed. There are a few misinformations about sn, this one is just in a table form. Don't look too much in to it.

ook don't worry. got it. i don't think there's a way. don't know why they wrote those things. maybe it's the taste, a little bit.
im open to listen to more opinions tho

Too many variables to consider when trying to measure or estimate emesis or vomit volume. Vomit may include stomach acids and other fluids, depending on the fasting regime of an individual so volume it self is not a reliable parameter to base how much of a second dose you'll need. Furthermore, the initial sn solution would've reacted to hcl in the stomach the moment it came in contact with each other; the nitrite to nitric oxide conversion in the stomach will affect how much sn you regurgitate. I suspect conversion will vary dramatically depending on whether antacids is taken or not. I also assume that the vomit will be too homogenous to even distinguish between SN Soln and gastric fluids.

so there's also the variable of much SN was converted to sodium chloride (NaCl), nitric oxide (NO) and sodium nitrate (NaNO3), which of course is impossible to establish - regardless of whether you take or not the antacid, there may be individual floatings.

The SN Bible says that if vomiting occurs, you should drink another glass. I'll make four glasses, each containing 25g of SN and 50ml of water

yes it does not specify how much of the second glass so we assume it's the entire glass. i'll make three glasses 25g x 50ml

Has anyone ever actually drank a 2nd glass?
