ive read so much on sn, i've just seen a couple posts like here and on reddit that describe it as awful and painful 'the worst way to go'. idk if these people were just not following protcol though? ive watched a few videos that seem relatively peaceful , just throwing a few times at most and laying down? i should be able to get all the reccomended pills and 60mg of clonazipam , what do you think? i can deal with throwing up and some discomfort but i dont really want to be in severe pain as its obviously not nice but also because it could make me seek help, tell me your thoughts

**Don't take anything I say as law, I very well could be wrong**

When I see posts (especially on places like reddit) where people claim death by SN to be excruciatingly painful and one of the worst ways to die, I feel like a lot of these people are just bullshitting/lying in attempt to discourage people from ctb. I think hearing about a method that's relatively painless gives a lot of people the will to end it. I know personally, I've dealt with SI for years and one of the main things stopping me from following through is the pain/brutalization of many of the methods I'd known about before reading about SN. By spreading the notion that SN is just as painful as these other methods, I think people believe they're killing the bit of hope that people like me have gotten after hearing about a method like SN.

Again, I could be very wrong. SN might be an extremely painful way to go, it might not be. Ultimately, I have no idea 🤷‍♂️

yea i thought this might be it, and also probably people not following protocol, like taking too much or too little. also maybe ppl with prexisting conditions that might make it hurt. it will be my method anyway, hopefully soon

Honestly, it is personal and subjective.

SN causes Methemoglobinemia.

Symptoms include shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fast heartrate (tachycardia), mental status changes, headache, fatigue, stomach pain (sometimes), body aches (sometimes), dizziness, and loss of consciousness.

When you're dying from it, it causes seizures and a coma before death.

When you're already dead from SN, you will be found blue/purple color all over the body and release of bowels (You shit yourself).

The truth is nobody really knows. After the chemical paralyzes and confuses the person they die 40 minutes later. Is it painful? quite possibly. I think what users are banking on however is that it's only 40 minutes, then no more. As non violent methods go that's not bad

If SN really were to be causing death completely by lack of oxygen (Methemoglobinemia), and/or a mix of poisoning, (if it was from poisoning too and not just from lack of oxygen, then I don't know) then this would be a unnecessary method to choose, because you can just get inert gases so easily like pure helium or pure nitrogen (not by money, I meant by as in how restricted it is to obtain SN and the pain from it) and no, you don't have to use continuous gas flow, all you need is to fill the deflated bag around your head with it (the bag needs to be big enough to fit at least 2-3 deep deep breaths volume of pure helium/nitrogen) and that's it, you stop the gas flow there, and just breathe, you pass out, and long before co2 built up inside the finite space of re-breathing that gas, you wouldn't feel it, because you are unconscious by that time. Make sure the oxygen in the gas by volume inside the bag around your head is at least anywhere below 3% by volume and no higher, before breathing it in (before going unconscious from it), for a peaceful way out. I might be wrong and I don't know, this is what I could think of, please tell me if I am wrong.
