I believe it would. Once you stop breathing, no more oxygen is available to reverse the changes to blood chemistry so I think that cyanosis and the blood colour change would be irreversible.

When I was hospitalized for SN said I either ingested or injected some chemical. Didn't admit to anything and basically told them they were stupid if they have a PhD and can't figure out what was wrong with me..
Would an autopsy show it was SN or would it just show that the person died from methemoglobinemia?
