SN on plane

Hi,
I'm planning on bringing my SN from Ireland to London. I will put it in my checked luggage. Will this be checked at the airport?

Hmmm.. depends on if they run it through their xray machine I guess.. If they do run it through their xray, it will most likely show up as an anomaly which they are trained to look for and inspect further.

I don't know the answer as to what will happen or what they'd see it as or even question it. It depends on a lot I guess. I'm fairly curious to know how it goes.

I would think they'll ask you about any white powder or chemical substance in your luggage that they might find.
If its a small amount they probaly wont even notice it though.
Probably a good idea to have a reason why you are carrying it ready, such as for your meat curing hobby or something, idk.
Afaik it's legal to import for personal use. But they might still confiscate it for further testing ( and you might be waiting a long time to get it back or never see it again).
