P is for propranolol. Did you use any?
Also are you anemic? Do you think that at the time prior to the sn attempt you suffered from iron deficiency (low serum iron or/and low ferritin)? OR something like Raynaud's syndrome?
Thank you for all the information you have shared

the ward is horrendous - shared rooms with other patients, i've had 2 fights already, my stuff gets stolen, every time i leave my bed all my bedding gets taken off by the patient next to me and she puts them down the toilet, i've been pinned down and injected with sedatives 3 times the ward is a shit tip literally shit overflowing out the toilet and staff refuse to get the cleaners to sort it, patients playing loud music 24/7 so much chaos going on it's horrendous for someone with ASD PTSD and EUPD

not good :/
WTF? I thought we'd got rid of wards like that in the UK? I thought the policy was individual rooms that could be locked to prevent other patients gaining access?

If you're on a section, then I'm sure you know you're legally entitled to an advocate. Can they help appeal to get you moved to a more suitable environment?

I don't have ASD but I do have PTSD and BPD and I made a nest under the desk in my individual room on my first night as the room itself and the noise and the 15 mins checks were too overwhelming. I want to hide now at just your description, the concept is so triggering so fuck knows how you're coping. Seriously, I'm not talking about challenging the section but the location. I know beds are scarce but shit ...

Honestly it's hell, I was originally told I was being sent to the hospital closest to home which is actually really nice, calming, big, has an outdoor area and the doctor and consultant know me well and is really understandable and nice. Then when I was getting transferred I got told I was going here because there was a mix up with the beds so that pissed me off.

I don't even know how this ward is still running it should be shut down it's not therapeutic at all and how it's supposed to help people either in crisis or just general mental health is shocking, tbh i've actually been more suicidal being on this ward than being in the community im getting that desperate im thinking of doing the touniquet method when my obs are down to hourly instead of every 10 mins.

I've asked many times for staff to try find my stuff that's been stolen but they just ignore you or don't even open the door, the patients roam the corridors, there's literal fights everyday, we have a tiny cage outside to smoke in, the toilets are always flooded and piss and shit coming into the hallways, no cups in the dining area or anything to make a drink with usually there's like hot chocolate, biscuits, juice.. The cold water doesn't even work. Patients are allowed access to speakers and one has a big speaker outside her room like a huge speaker and she just plays russian mafia rap music all day so you can't even nap in the day. A patient keeps coming in my bay when i'm sleeping and takes the stuff i put under my pillow whether it's vapes or my eye mask ear plugs and takes my chargers. the staff know what patient it is yet refuse to take the stuff back or even tell her to stop.

I was here last year on the other ward so it's the same doctor looking after me and she hates me because i ran off 4 times she didn't give me leave for ages and disregarded the suggestions off other professionals to discharge me. she's so stuck up her own arse it's unbelievable.

A few suggestions, if they're any help

Put your stuff in a sock and put it in your armpit or between your boobs when you're sleeping.

Contact PALS

Contact your family and ask them to contact your MP to make a formal complaint about the safety and hygiene on the ward

Know that we're here.

@CocoToxBase I'm sorry. I'm sure you are able to endure a lot, but it's horrible if you can't rely on certain standards, or anything really

Damn... It seemed to me that I just recently read about your attempt to die with sodium nitrite... But you're already in a mental hospital
I am so sorry.
This is hell within hell. It's a double hell.
You took poison because your soul was in pain.
And after that, you're now in a prison called a mental hospital.
This world is ruled by evil, seriously.
And you dare not escape from this prison, otherwise something worse awaits you.

I hate this one.

Some people here are so afraid of vomiting and tachycardia lol, SN is literally listed in the PPH as a peaceful method. Some would rather suffer continuing to live while waiting until a Nebuntal sent from heaven fall on their laps.
Some people are afraid of pain and other symptoms that some other participants have written about, lol. Because not all participants were comfortable after taking Sodium nitrite, lol. Some of the participants in this forum were hurt, lol.
Some of the participants even wrote that they felt suffocated, lol.

So stop treating other people with ridicule just because they've read other stories (which you probably haven't read).
And stop writing that sarcastic word (lol)
Did you come here to laugh?

I've wrote a huge email for PALS just waiting for a response hopefully i can move hospital because it's only making me worse, my airpods have been stolen and that's the only thing stopping me from hearing all the chaos and it's sending me into sensory overload. yet again the staff are too busy or don't care to get my stuff back. I'm so sick of it.

Lol, even nebumtal has cases where it went bad. Any method there will be cases were things went wrong, at least with SN your death is guaranteed.

There are over a 100 documented cases witch attest to its efficacy and relative peacefulness but some would rather focus on the ones which the person vomited a lot before going out.

So yeah, lol for those who think that vomiting is the thing that would deter them from ctb. I'm grateful for having SN, you guys can wait forever for your nebumtal while you sufffer on this miserable existence, because you dont wanna vomit and experience some tachycardia, lol.

Hey everyone on the 12th June I survived quite a traumatic SN experience and I am willing to share and include medical documents for information purposes. I have received all my medical records, there is 500 pages but I've took screenshots of relevant parts to show what SN does to the body and how they treat it If anyone is interested. My case is quite strange as I would initially respond to methylene blue treatment and then deteriorate again.

On 12th June I drove 2h away from home to a remote location, It was a car park in the forest. I sat there for a few hours and drank 20g of SN at around Midnight I also took Buccastem, Propranolol, and Diazepam hours before. The symptoms I experienced was slight tachycardia with no chest pain, I felt some discomfort in my stomach, my hands and feet where cold so I turned up the heating in my car but I was still shaking, I had a minor migraine and just felt very sleepy. I'm not sure about the timings of when I actually went unconscious and my heart stopped. According to the police they do 'patrol' checks in that area for the reasons of people dealing drugs there and having sex in the car and they came upon my car and seen me 'asleep' and they say this was at around 1am. I had the SN packet in the car so the police told the Ambulance what I had likely taken where they sent out an Advanced Paramedic who was carrying methylene blue. I was clinically dead when the police got to me, there was a defibrillator on the car park which they used and It brought me back into a normal heart rhythm along with CPR. When the Advanced Paramedic got there they administered methylene blue straight away. I started to show slow clinical signs of improvement and that's where I remember briefly waking up on route to hospital in the ambulance. I'm not sure what my initial methaemoglobin levels where on scene but when I got to hospital there where at 70.3% I received another dose of methylene blue on arrival to resus.

My oxygen saturations on the finger probe on arrival was 47% on high flow oxygen and dropping to 15% at one point. GCS of 8, very pale with blue lips and abnormal respiration with intermittent pauses in breathing requiring breathing aid via Bag Valve Mask. My Methb dropped from 70.3% to 36.7% after the 2nd dose of Methylene Blue, I required another dose of Methylene blue which dropped my Methb levels to 7%. I actually had got up and walked to the toilet at around 3am with 2 police officers and then went back to my bay and started to get some sleep. Around an hour later they wanted to do a repeat ECG and realised here I was very drowsy, I had turned blue again and my sats where dropping to 60% and my Methb raised from 7% to 40% despite having 3 rounds of methylene blue. My GCS dropped, I became hypoxic and I had abnormal breathing so I was intubated and moved to critical care. Despite all the treatment I received my MetHb kept getting better and than rising and this confused the doctors. I had over 10 doses of Methylene blue, 4 blood transfusions, exchange transfusion but despite all this I was still getting worse so they could only think that I still had SN in my gut that was slowly being absorbed. This is where they inserted a Ryles tube while I was intubated and delivered activated charcoal 50g every 4 hours and aspirated my stomach contents. I was intubated in Resus and extubated in Critical Care but was then re-intubated a few hours later due to my condition rapidly deteriorating again.

There's so much more I could write but I've tried to summarise it to the best I could. Below are links (in time order from admission) of the medical notes. I have scribbled out private and confidential information but I have left all medical notes. Also don't get confused with 'table salt' they thought the SN packet was table salt at first and then realised it was SN.

Hope this is helpful :)

In a good note, I'm happy that you ok. Maybe God is giving you another chance. So I'm going through your medical record and it looks like you were intubated. Going through this is a lot. As I read also other stories, they have a lot of users failed using this method. I'm so sorry for this bad experience and horrible method. Please take care of yourself. You're lucky you didn't end up with permanent trache or colostomy bag.
