I love sleep. It's one of my favourite things in life. I wish I could sleep longer than my brain currently allows. It used to be so easy to do, but months ago that all changed. I can't pinpoint why. I also don't understand sleeping pills. They don't seem to have any effect on me whatsoever and that is with the supposed extra strength stuff. Although maybe that's just advertising on the package. It's a cruel world. :(

Do you people enjoy sleep as much as I do and can you sleep for as long as you desire?

Sadly, I cannot sleep for as long as I wish which would be all the time. But sleep is the closest thing to being dead for me, but as long as the chance of waking the next day is there it cannot bring me that much relief. Sleeping is certainly the best way to pass time though.

I get what you mean. Dreams are like a different reality which have their own weird logic to them. It's a shame that we can't really choose when we sleep & how long we sleep for. I've known people who have no problems sleeping almost instantly. Those people are really lucky.

Food is good too, but nowadays it's really expensive. Really had to cut down a lot last year.

I've struggled with lifelong insomnia. I'll miss entire nights of sleep regularly. I agree with you, sleep is awesome when I can actually achieve it.

Chronic sleeping difficulties is probably a very major contributor to my poor mental health. When I do get a good sleep I feel so much more resilient, empowered and optimistic.

God, I wish. I'm lucky to get 4 hours every few days. Sometimes I'll go a long stretch awake to where I'm nodding off every 10 minutes for two or three minutes before the pain wakes me up, again... then, after a day or so of that I'll pass out and get a solid 6 or 7 hours of glorious sleep.

I try eternally to start a schedule going but I simply can't. My body wakes me so often it's as though I didn't sleep at all. The quick cat-naps in rapid succession my bed brings me leave much to be desired.

I take small comfort in the fact that there are meth-heads in this world who pay good money to feel this way, and I get it for free as a natural course of my shitty existence. lol

Meth-heads. Man! I could never understand why someone would actually pay for this hell.

I love sleeping โค I agree with @FuneralCry it is the nearest thing of being dead and not having to feel that much. For now it is the only thing that is helping me get trough the day. These last weeks I get tired very easily tho because lack of concentration. So whenever I try to concentrate I get tired instantly, put my head under my blanked so it gets nice and warm and than I go to sleep.๐Ÿ˜ด

Sleep to me is also the closest thing to not existing, just as long as I'm not dreaming about anything.

Aww, that sucks! :/ I hope you don't have to deal with hallucinations as well.

Chronic sleeping difficulties is probably a very major contributor to my poor mental health. When I do get a good sleep I feel so much more resilient, empowered and optimistic.
The joys of sleep are certainly powerful. It's very unfair how one function in the the human body can screw up basically everything for a person. :( How often do you get good days?

God, I wish. I'm lucky to get 4 hours every few days. Sometimes I'll go a long stretch awake to where I'm nodding off every 10 minutes for two or three minutes before the pain wakes me up, again... then, after a day or so of that I'll pass out and get a solid 6 or 7 hours of glorious sleep.

Sorry to hear about the pain waking you up! Although I've never experienced permanent physical pain, I can certainly understand the frustration of barely sleeping and waking up in pain thanks to toothache which triggers completely at random. I guess though, my sleep problems are really feel minor compared to yours and some of the others here.

Those meth heads are kinda strange, although I'm happy that it at least comforts you.

Sleep to me is also the closest thing to not existing, just as long as I'm not dreaming about anything.
I know this might sound silly, but I feel like I need to dream to actually know I've actually slept. Dreams are so foreign from reality that it feels like some sort-of escape. That being said, I know when we die we will experience nothingness, so I guess you are preparing for that.

Ya love sleep can make littl rrliev but still ability sleep dream less before cuz injury damage but still sleep bett awake, whsh sleep never wake
Dreams are filled with hope. I hope that even if you dream less that the ones you do have are enjoyable. And yeah, dying in your sleep does sound like the most peaceful way to go.

Me too, I fucking love sleep! I usually have trouble falling asleep, but once I do I'm knocked out for 10 - 12 hours which is great. I recently read a novel called 'My Year of Rest and Relaxation' that was about the protagonist abusing meds to be able to hibernate until she was ready to live her life again. It's a not a great novel (IMO) but it's kind of a fun read if you just embrace the ridiculousness of it and see how much longer and longer her sleep gets.

I always slept a lot longer than most people. Even as a child, I used to shut down for 12-15 hours straight. My father used to say "one life you have, and that one you are sleeping away".
In retrospect, I have never been joyful. Something about this world, about other people, always felt off. Sleeping is a coping mechanism.
One time I slept for 35 hours, with 2-3 bathroom breaks. Nowadays, I sleep 6-8 hours, because I have a long hours job. In my days off I indulge 10-12 hrs...

Sleep is the closest thing to death. For a long time I was taking a bunch of Benadryl as soon as I woke up and then just letting myself fade out again. I always hoped I just wouldn't wake up but I wouldn't really call it an attempt to CTB. I love to dream, things are so much colorful there.

I've always said that waking up for me is like being ripped from the womb. From the time I was a kid, I've always hated waking up in the morning. These days, waking up is pure hell..... more of a "oh my God, I have to do this all over again today".
