This will be difficult for Sinead. I feel very, very sad for her. I really like her and she has had her own devastating mental health struggles - but rest easy Shane

I just read that she actually has borderline/emotionally unstable personality disorder, not BD. She was misdiagnosed. She's agoraphobic too these days. She was a lesbian/feminist icon & now she's a Muslim who covers her head. I think it's incredibly sad when unstable people have kids, but nothing can be done about it. We can't forcibly sterilize anyone.

It's a tragedy when narcissistic/sociopathic people decide to have children. Sinead is neither, she comes across as very empathetic, just a troubled soul. Not all mentally ill parents are bad parents.

Sure, she has issues, but none of us know what type of parent she was. His suicide could have been for other reasons.

I've got BPD and PTSD, however I work in a job where I look after children and although I may not have my own, I know that if I did I would be a good parent because I constantly reflect on myself ... Let's not blame Sinead when none of us know when Shanes reasons for ctb where.

RIP Shane, I'm sorry this world was so cruel to you and you felt that you had to ctb, but I understand your reasons. I hope your at peace now.

Yes, I agree with that. My mother and grandmother (both gone) had severe mental health problems. I definitely inherited those issues. They both tried to ctb in their lives. My mum lit herself on fire and was in a burns unit in London for years.
